Rapid Steam‐Assisted Temperature Swing Adsorption for Direct Air Capture Using a Rotary Adsorber

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents a direct air capture (DAC) device based on a steam‐regeneration rotary adsorber for high‐purity CO2. Testing of the prototype demonstrates its capability for continuous and stable carbon capture with the potential to achieve ton‐scale.

Comparison of upwind and downwind rotor operations of the DOE/NASA 100-kW Mod-O wind turbine [PDF]

open access: yes
Three aspects of the test results are compared: rotor blade bending loads, rotor teeter response, and nacelle yaw moments. As a result of the tests, it is shown that while mean flatwise bending moments were unaffected by the placement of the rotor ...

How Particle Size Affects Consolidation Behavior, Strain and Properties of Li6PS5Cl Fast Ionic Conductors

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
The densification process of Li6PS5Cl powders with varying particles size distributions reveals differences in smaller and larger distributions. Higher strain is revealed for the smaller particle size distribution from X‐ray diffraction. Discrete element method simulations uncover that the reason for the higher strain is not the particle size itself ...

Testing of a one-bladed 30-meter-diameter rotor on the DOE/NASA Mod-O wind turbine [PDF]

open access: yes
Tests were conducted on the DOE/NASA Mod-O 200-kW horizontal-axis wind turbine in a one-bladed rotor configuration. The objectives of the test were to evaluate the performance, loads, and dynamic characteristics of a one-bladed rotor, and then to compare
