Smart Optogenetics for Real‐Time Automated Control of Cardiac Electrical Activity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We are able to stop dangerous heart‐rhythm spirals before they fully form. Within about 100 ms, it pinpoints the spiral's tiny central tip (≈0.9 mm) using light‐based sensing and machine learning, then shines targeted light to shut it down. This fast, precise, closed‐loop approach detects, targets, and terminates arrhythmias in real time.

Piezoceramics-based Devices for Active Balancing of Flexible Shafts [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
This paper focuses on vibration control of flexible shafts by means of rotorfixed piezoelectric materials. The target is to realize compact solutions for the suppression of problematic resonant vibration at so-called flexural critical speeds.

Optimal molecular alignment and orientation through rotational ladder climbing

open access: yes, 2005
We study the control by electromagnetic fields of molecular alignment and orientation, in a linear, rigid rotor model. With the help of a monotonically convergent algorithm, we find that the optimal field is in the microwave part of the spectrum and acts

Albumin‐Bound STING Agonist Reprograms HSPCs to Antitumor Neutrophils Enhancing CD8+ T Cell Immunity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that an albumin‐bound STING agonist (Nano ZSA‐51D) reprograms HSPCs to produce antitumor neutrophils with enhanced MHC I–mediated CD8+ T cell activation, thereby sensitizing tumors to α‐PD1 therapy. These findings highlight a strategy to target early hematopoiesis for shaping neutrophil fate and potentiating cancer immunotherapy.

Enhanced Energy Transfer from a Metal–Organic Framework to a Highly Confined Organic Phosphorescent Dye

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A phosphorescent dye was designed to fit in a hand‐to‐glove fashion into the 1D‐pore channels of MIL‐68(In). We synthesized MIL‐68(In) as powder and thin films, loaded the dye into the pores with controlled packing, and found that the phosphorescence and quantum yield are enhanced.

An online motor rotor temperature estimation based on BP neural network with experimental data-driven

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering
The rotor temperature monitoring is crucial for reliability and performance of permanent magnet synchronous motor. Overheating is the main reason for motor demagnetization, which may lead to power output interruption. However, direct measurement of rotor

Advanced Cooling of Rotor in Electrical Motor

open access: yes, 2014
About one fifth of the energy used today is allocated in the transportation sector and most of the vehicles are driven by internal combustion engines. Replacing them with electrical machine would have a positive environmental impact but there is room for improvement of the electric machines.Rotors of the electrical machines in the automotive industry ...

Cell Cycle‐Specific Regulation of Centrosome Clustering Dynamics in Cancer Cells by the Multifunctional Kinesin HSET

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
CDK5RAP2 associates with the kinesin HSET and forms co‐condensates. HSET motors drive the directional transport of CDK5RAP2 condensates toward microtubule minus ends. During mitosis, HSET self‐assembly further stabilizes clustered centrosomes, thereby enabling pseudo‐bipolar spindle formation in cancer cells with supernumerary centrosomes. Upon mitotic

Programmable RNA N6,2´‐O‐Dimethyladenosine Editing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT N6,2’‐O‐dimethyladenosine (m6Am) is a prevalent RNA modification located at the first transcribed nucleotide adjacent to the 5′ cap of mRNAs, where it has been implicated in gene regulation. However, the lack of methods for precise, transcript‐specific manipulation of m6Am has limited its functional dissection.
