An ionic liquid‐based shear‐thickening fluid (ILSTF) exhibits lubricated dynamics from strong shear thickening to impact‐triggered jamming. A persistent nanometric solvation layer around silica governs both the shear thickening saturation in rheology and jamming front propagation under dynamic impact compression.

Computational fluid dynamics model of a quad-rotor helicopter for dynamic analysis [PDF]
The control and performance of a quad-rotor helicopter UAV is greatly influenced by its aerodynamics, which in turn is affected by the interactions with features in its remote environment. This paper presents details of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)

Inspired by nature's competitive maneuvers, this study introduces a combustion‐driven soft actuator that powers a multi‐modal “Jump‐and‐Fly Catbot” (JFC). With millisecond response, high‐force output (over 70 times its weight) and precise control (error within 5%), the robot can jump, fly, hover, and escape from challenging environments, achieving ...

Chromosome segregation in Streptococcus pneumoniae depends on RocS, a bitopic protein whose membrane‐anchoring mechanisms were unclear. Using NMR and AFM, this study reveals that the widely conserved RocS anchor binds to membranes via a conserved kink‐helix motif which inserts into lipid nanodomains.

Rapid Steam‐Assisted Temperature Swing Adsorption for Direct Air Capture Using a Rotary Adsorber
This study presents a direct air capture (DAC) device based on a steam‐regeneration rotary adsorber for high‐purity CO2. Testing of the prototype demonstrates its capability for continuous and stable carbon capture with the potential to achieve ton‐scale.
