Long‐Term Follow‐Up of Chemotherapy‐Associated Biological Aging in Women With Early Breast Cancer

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Women threated with adjuvant chemotherapy for early breast cancer have sustained long‐term increase in p16INK4a,, a robust marker of cell senescence, suggesting a chemotherapy‐associated age acceleration. p16INK4a as well as other biomarkers may identify patients at greatest risk for senescence‐related diseases of aging.

A Novel Function Mining Algorithm Based on Attribute Reduction and Improved Gene Expression Programming

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
It is very interesting and important to determine the function model for remote-sensing data. The existing statistical and artificial intelligence models still have some defects.

Rough Convergence of Nets

open access: yesJournal of Al-Qadisiyah for Computer Science and Mathematics
This paper investigates fundamental and advanced concepts in rough topology by extending classical topological notions through the lens of rough set theory. We define and analyze rough-open and rough-closed sets, rough convergence of nets and filters, rough cluster and limit points, and separation axioms in rough spaces.

Phase Field Failure Modeling: Brittle‐Ductile Dual‐Phase Microstructures under Compressive Loading

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The approach by Amor and the approach by Miehe and Zhang for asymmetric damage behavior in the phase field method for fracture are compared regarding their fitness for microcrack‐based failure modeling. The comparison is performed for the case of a dual‐phase microstructure with a brittle and a ductile constituent.

Time‐Dependent Oxidation and Scale Evolution of a Wrought Co/Ni‐Based Superalloy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study shows how a new wrought Co/Ni‐based superalloy resists oxidation at 800 ∘$^\circ$C. The oxide scale changes from rough, fast‐growing spinel to a dense, protective chromia–alumina layer. Atom probe analysis reveals tiny refractory‐rich bubbles at the interface that mark the transition to long‐term, diffusion‐controlled protection ...

Large-Eddy Simulation of Utility-Scale Wind Farm Sited over Complex Terrain

open access: yesEnergies, 2023
The realm of wind energy is a rapidly expanding renewable energy technology. Wind farm developers need to understand the interaction between wind farms and the atmospheric flow over complex terrain.

Is an Apple an Orange? A Large Language Model Benchmark for Candidate Term Extraction and Subclass Decisions Against Upper Ontologies in Engineering and Materials Science

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Building machine‐readable vocabularies for materials science is slow, expert‐driven work. This study benchmarks 13 large language models on two of its first steps: finding candidate terms in engineering articles and deciding where they belong in a class hierarchy.

A Study on Rough Ideal Statistical Convergence in Neutrosophic Normed Spaces

open access: yesAxioms
In this paper, we introduce and study the concept of rough I–αβ–statistical convergence of order γ in neutrosophic normed spaces. This new mode of convergence combines the principles of rough convergence, statistical convergence with respect to an ideal,

Symbolic Regression and Multi‐Objective Optimization of the Flory–Huggins Interaction Parameter for Hydrogels

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
We develop a data‐driven method to derive the mathematical expressions of the Flory–Huggins interaction parameter χ for the swelling behavior of temperature–responsive hydrogels. Starting from initial assumptions of χ, our workflow combines Bayesian optimization, Flory–Rehner theory, and symbolic regression to generate candidate χ expressions.

Study on the Path Planning Method for Oilfield Patrolling UAV based on Leapfrog Particle Swarm Optimization

open access: yesChemical Engineering Transactions, 2018
To improve the path planning method for traditional oilfield patrolling UAV. Based on the complex network theory and the example for path planning, search for the rough path through Dijkstra algorithm.
