Rough Spaces on Covering Based Rough Sets

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Pure and Applied Mathematics, 2019
In this paper, we discuss open (closed) sets, rough interiors, rough closures, continuous mappings,  open (closed) mappings and homeomorphism mappings of  covering based rough topology of Akduman, Özcelik and Özel. We also construct the nano topology on a given covering based rough set.

Investigating the Effects of Build Height on Mechanical Behavior of Large‐Scale Laser Wire Directed Energy Deposited Nickel Titanium Alloy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Laser wire directed energy deposition process was leveraged to fabricate large scale NiTi alloy wall. Evaluation of build‐height‐dependent tribo‐mechanical properties revealed significant differences in location specific sample characteristics. The middle region achieved optimal performance (superior wear resistance, balanced strength‐ductility ...

Attribute Reduction Based on Consistent Covering Rough Set and Its Application

open access: yesComplexity, 2017
As an important processing step for rough set theory, attribute reduction aims at eliminating data redundancy and drawing useful information. Covering rough set, as a generalization of classical rough set theory, has attracted wide attention on both ...

Set-valued mapping and Rough Probability

open access: yes, 2017
In 1982, the theory of rough sets proposed by Pawlak and in 2013, Luay concerned a rough probability by using the notion of Topology. In this paper, we study the rough probability in the stochastic approximation spaces by using set-valued mapping and ...

Additive Manufacturing of Hot Work Tool Steel by Laser Powder Bed Fusion Utilizing Powder Mixtures Including Grinding Chips: Assessing Chemical Homogeneity and Achievable Hardness

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Grinding chips of high‐alloyed steel are prepared to be admixed to a starting powder mixture for laser powder bed fusion. A three‐stage preparation is performed, including washing in acetone, magnetic separation, and ball milling. The addition of 30% of grinding chips to the powder mixture allows the fabrication of dense samples.

Hepatitis B Disease Diagnosis Using Rough Set

open access: yesCommunications, 2013
This paper describes processing of the medical data by means of the prediction system based on Rough Set Theory (RST). The Rough Sets proved to be very useful for the analysis of the decision problems concerning objects described in a data table by a set

Experimental Analysis and Physics‐Based Analytical Model on Twisted and Coiled Artificial Muscles

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Twisted and coiled artificial muscles made from silver‐coated nylon fibers are investigated through experiments and analytical modeling. The actuators achieve contractions up to 19.3% and specific work of 8 kJ kg−1, though efficiency remains limited (≈0.15%) by thermal losses.

A Positron Lifetime Study of Cooling and Natural Aging of Solutionized Aluminum Alloys

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The process during cooling of Al–Mg and Al–Mg–Si alloys from the solutionizing temperature down to 20 °C is interrupted. These states are analyzed with positron lifetime spectroscopy to trace the processes during cooling. In different temperature ranges, two stages of vacancy loss and solute clustering are identified.
