A new type of soft multi rough sets

open access: yesDemonstratio Mathematica
Soft multi rough sets which are a hybrid model combining rough sets with soft multisets are defined by using soft multi rough approximation operators. Soft multi rough sets can be seen as a generalized rough set model based on soft multisets.

Rough Mereology

open access: yes, 1994
. We show how to organize a collection of intelligent cooperating agents into a rough mereological controller for the purpose of assembling a complex object with desired quality from its elementary parts.

A novel attribute reduction algorithm based on peer-to-peer technique and rough set theory

open access: yes, 2010
Rough Set theory is an effective tool to deal with vagueness and uncertainty information to select the most relevant attributes for a decision system. However, to find the minimum attributes is a NP-hard problem.

Formal and Informal Social Care in People With Rheumatic and Musculoskeletal Diseases: A Cross‐Sectional Multicenter Survey

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases (RMDs) are leading causes of physical disability, necessitating support with activities of daily living. This study describes social care received by patients with RMDs in two disparate regions of England: Salford (urban) and Norfolk (rural).

Attribute Reduction Based on Consistent Covering Rough Set and Its Application

open access: yesComplexity, 2017
As an important processing step for rough set theory, attribute reduction aims at eliminating data redundancy and drawing useful information. Covering rough set, as a generalization of classical rough set theory, has attracted wide attention on both ...

A scalable and effective rough set theory-based approach for big data pre-processing

open access: yes, 2020
International audienceA big challenge in the knowledge discovery process is to perform data pre-processing, specifically feature selection, on a large amount of data and high dimensional attribute set.

Rough Sets of System

open access: yes, 2007
The classical rough set theory mostly emphasizes the differentiation among the elements of the universe, but does not investigate the structure of the universe. This paper extends rough set theory from the set to the system, making it not only can well classify elements of the universe but also can reveal the interrelation among elements of the ...

Revisiting Stability Criteria in Ball‐Milled High‐Entropy Alloys: Do Hume–Rothery and Thermodynamic Rules Equally Apply?

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.
The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.
