Rafting of Ni‐Based Superalloys Under Multiaxial Load as Understood by Phase‐Field Simulations and Critical Experiments

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Phase‐field simulations coupled with dislocation‐density‐based crystal plasticity modeling reproduce γ′ rafting behavior in single‐crystal Ni‐based superalloys under varied loading conditions. The model captures both macroscopic creep and microscopic morphology evolution, with results matching high‐temperature creep experiments.

Geographic Information Systems and Decision Processes for Urban Planning: A Case Study of Rough Set Analysis on the Residential Areas of the City of Cagliari, Italy [PDF]

open access: yes
In Italy, urban planning is based on the city Masterplan. This plan identifies the future urban organization and a system of zoning rules. Land-use policies are based on these rules.

Additive Manufacturing of Continuous Fibre Reinforced Composites: Process, Characterisation, Modelling, and Sustainability

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Additive manufacturing provides precise control over the placement of continuous fibres within polymer matrices, enabling customised mechanical performance in composite components. This article explores processing strategies, mechanical testing, and modelling approaches for additive manufactured continuous fibre‐reinforced composites.

L-Fuzzy rough point-wise proximity spaces

open access: yesApplied General Topology
In this paper, we study the concept of nearness between L-fuzzy rough sets and L-fuzzy points. The nearness between two L-fuzzy rough sets are viewed in terms of this new concept.

Phase Field Failure Modeling: Brittle‐Ductile Dual‐Phase Microstructures under Compressive Loading

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The approach by Amor and the approach by Miehe and Zhang for asymmetric damage behavior in the phase field method for fracture are compared regarding their fitness for microcrack‐based failure modeling. The comparison is performed for the case of a dual‐phase microstructure with a brittle and a ductile constituent.

Comparing Rough Set Theory with Multiple Regression Analysis as Automated Valuation Methodologies [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper focuses on the problem of applying rough set theory to mass appraisal. This methodology was first introduced by a Polish mathematician, and has been applied recently as an automated valuation methodology by the author.

Time‐Dependent Oxidation and Scale Evolution of a Wrought Co/Ni‐Based Superalloy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study shows how a new wrought Co/Ni‐based superalloy resists oxidation at 800 ∘$^\circ$C. The oxide scale changes from rough, fast‐growing spinel to a dense, protective chromia–alumina layer. Atom probe analysis reveals tiny refractory‐rich bubbles at the interface that mark the transition to long‐term, diffusion‐controlled protection ...

Rough Sets

open access: yes
This chapter discusses ways in which rough set theory can enhance databases by allowing for the management of uncertainty. Rough sets can be integrated into an underlying database model, relational or object oriented, and also used in design and querying
