Investigating transcription factor dynamics in health and disease using FRAP

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
FRAP analysis of GFP‐tagged transcription factors reveals how molecular mobility and target engagement change in response to drug treatment. By combining live‐cell imaging, quantitative model fitting, and statistical analysis, this approach uncovers transcription factor dynamics linked to disease mechanisms, providing a powerful framework for ...

Two kinds of average approximation accuracy

open access: yesCAAI Transactions on Intelligence Technology
Rough set theory places great importance on approximation accuracy, which is used to gauge how well a rough set model describes a target concept. However, traditional approximation accuracy has limitations since it varies with changes in the target ...

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Kernel Neighborhood Rough Sets Model and Its Application

open access: yesComplexity, 2018
Rough set theory has been successfully applied to many fields, such as data mining, pattern recognition, and machine learning. Kernel rough sets and neighborhood rough sets are two important models that differ in terms of granulation.

YIPFα1A expression is regulated by multilayered molecular mechanisms

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
YIPFα1A, a five‐pass Golgi protein, is regulated at multiple layers. (1) Rare‐codon enrichment drives translation‐coupled mRNA decay. (2) A proximal 3′‐UTR element stabilizes mRNA. (3) A distal 3′‐UTR element included by alternate poly(A) site usage represses translation, which can be overridden by the proximal 3′‐UTR element.

Multigranulation rough set: A multiset based strategy

open access: yesInternational Journal of Computational Intelligence Systems, 2017
A simple multigranulation rough set approach is to approximate the target through a family of binary relations. Optimistic and pessimistic multigranulation rough sets are two typical examples of such approach.

Refinement of amino‐acid conformation vs. difference density maps in time‐resolved serial femtosecond crystallography data analysis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The dFoCC pipeline starts with observed DED and resting‐state coordinates, which are then used to generate a library of triggered states. Correlation analysis of the calculated DED features of each candidate vs observed DED permits quantitative evaluation of candidate structural quality.

Matrix-Based Approaches for Updating Approximations in Multigranulation Rough Set While Adding and Deleting Attributes

open access: yesInternational Journal of Computational Intelligence Systems
With advanced technology in medicine and biology, data sets containing information could be huge and complex that sometimes are difficult to handle. Dynamic computing is an efficient approach to solve some problems. Since multigranulation rough sets were

DEDEKIND-MACNEILLE COMPLETION OF THE ROUGH SETS SYSTEM AS PASTING OF ROUGH APPROXIMATION LATTICES [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Algebraic Systems
The pattern of embedding of rough approximation lattices defined by a reflexive relation in its Dedekind-MacNeille completion of rough sets system is taken up for study in this work. The reflexive relation R for which the Dedekind-MacNeille completion of ...
