Modern Suburban Roundabouts in Croatia - Flower and Turbo roundabouts
Scientific journal of civil engineering, 2019Turboroundabouts are specially designed multilane roundabouts with spiral circulatory roadway and physically separated traffic lanes. This roundabout layout was developed in the late nineties of the last century with the aim of increasing the traffic safety and capacity at classic multi-lane roundabouts.

Modeling gridlock at roundabout
Computer Physics Communications, 2015We propose a cellular automaton model to study the traffic patterns at a roundabout. We obtain the complete phase diagram which consists of four distinct phases: free flow, congestion, bottleneck, and gridlock. For the six possible transitions among these four phases, we observe only five transitions.

The midline of the fruit fly and the zebrafish share more than just topology. Fricke et al. show that zebrafish use a receptor encoded by the gene astray for guiding axons from the developing eyes to the brain, crossing the midline on their way to form the optic chiasma.

STKE The Drosophila nervous system has been used as a model system for studying the molecular signals underlying the developmental choices of axons at the midline. Growth cones that display the receptor Roundabout (Robo) are repelled from crossing the midline, whereas those featuring the receptor Frazzled are attracted across the midline.
