The Algorithm of the Roundwood Volume Measurement via Photogrammetry

2016 International Conference on Digital Image Computing: Techniques and Applications (DICTA), 2016
The paper is concerned with the final part of the algorithm for the log deck volume measurement. After detecting the rounded objects with the modified Fast Radial Symmetry algorithm it is necessary to adjust the edges of the detected log cuts and separate erroneous objects. Thus the image cauterization and segmentation are implemented.

Dynamic models of the roundwood market in Finland [PDF]

open access: possibleFinnish Economic Papers, 1988
We contribute to the discussion of the reasons why the supply of roundwood has lagged behind the growth of forests since the early 1970s. Our dynamic models of the roundwood market provide some evidence that the very low level of the real interest rate is an important reason for the sluggishness of fellings in private forests.

Examination of Roundwood Utilization Rates in West Virginia

Forest Products Journal, 2012
ABSTRACT Forest harvesting is an integral part of the West Virginia forest economy. This component of the supply chain supports a diverse array of primary and secondary processors. A key metric used to describe the efficiency of the roundwood extraction process is the logging utilization factor (LUF). The LUF is one way managers can discern the

Productivity of Forwarder's on Roundwood Extraction

2008

Testing for Nonlinear Spatial Integration in Roundwood Markets

Forest Science, 2011
Abstract Prior studies have frequently not supported spatial market integration and the law of one price in roundwood markets. However, these studies have relied on cointegration tests that have low power in the presence of nonlinearities. Roundwood markets may display these effects due to high transactions costs between regions. In this
