A Child with Raccoon Roundworm Meningoencephalitis: A Pathogen Emerging in your Own Backyard?
Raccoon roundworm (Baylisascaris procyonis) is a cause of devastating neural and ocular disease. The first documented case of raccoon roundworm encephalitis in Canada, in a seven-year-old boy who presented with severe neurological impairment, is ...

From Lab to Landscape: Environmental Biohybrid Robotics for Ecological Futures
This Perspective explores environmental biohybrid robotics, integrating living tissues, microorganisms, and insects for operation in real‐world ecosystems. It traces the leap from laboratory experiments to forests, wetlands, and urban environments and discusses key challenges, development pathways, and opportunities for ecological monitoring and ...

Postsynaptic Complexin Mediates Constitutive Exocytosis of Nicotinic Acetylcholine Receptor
Beyond its established presynaptic role, complexin is identified as a postsynaptic regulator of neurotransmitter receptor trafficking. By promoting constitutive and activity‐dependent exocytosis of nicotinic acetylcholine receptors, complexin controls spontaneous synaptic signaling at the C.

Estimation of Ascaris infection risks in children under 15 from the consumption of wastewater-irrigated carrots [PDF]
Ascaris lumbricoides, the large human roundworm, infects ,1,200 million people, with children under the age of 15 being particularly at risk. Monte Carlo quantitative microbial risk analyses were undertaken to estimate median Ascaris infection risks in

Genome of the Giant Panda Roundworm Illuminates Its Host Shift and Parasitic Adaptation
Baylisascaris schroederi, a roundworm (ascaridoid) parasite specific to the bamboo-feeding giant panda (Ailuropoda melanoleuca), represents a leading cause of mortality in wild giant panda populations.

A novel root‐shoot‐root signaling relay, mediated by CLE peptides, coordinates drought adaptation in common bean. Root‐derived PvCLE11b translocates acropetally to leaves, inducing PvCLE16 expression via PvTCP10. Leaf‐accumulated PvCLE16 triggers stomatal closure and translocates basipetally to modulate root architecture.
