Agrobot for Inter-Row Cultivation of Row Crops

open access: yesNational Interagency Scientific and Technical Collection of Works. Design, Production and Exploitation of Agricultural Machines
Throughout the history of agriculture, farming has evolved from simple hand tools and animal-drawn machines to sophisticated automated equipment. One of the most promising technological solutions in agricultural production is the use of agricultural robots to ensure a high-quality and timely technological process.

Pharmacological chromatin remodeling enhances response to estrogen therapy in ER+ breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Estrogen therapy elicits clinical benefit in ~ 30% of patients with endocrine‐resistant estrogen receptor (ER)‐positive breast cancer. Based on findings that ER transcriptional activation underlies response to estrogen therapy, we tested the effects of epigenetic dysregulation via pharmacological inhibition of histone deacetylases (HDACi).

A novel method for manual weeding in row crops

open access: yesThe Indian Journal of Agricultural Sciences, 2021
For small and marginal farmers the affordable weeding option is either hand weeding or simple manual operated mechanical weeder in crop production for qualitative as well as quanlitative yield.

Extracellular matrix remodeling and immune reprogramming drive residual tumor progression of liver cancer after incomplete microwave ablation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Incomplete microwave ablation (iMWA) of liver cancer triggers a biphasic progression in residual tumors. At Day 3, the microenvironment is characterized by acute inflammatory responses and extracellular matrix (ECM) remodeling. By Day 14, a profound shift occurs toward oncogenic signal transduction and immunosuppression, marked by macrophage ...

Yeast Gcn2 retains activity following humanization of its auto‐phosphorylation region

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Using Saccharomyces cerevisiae as a model to study Gcn2 activation and regulation is limited by the lack of antibodies detecting phosphorylated Gcn2. To overcome this, we engineered Gcn2‐HsC, a yeast Gcn2 variant recognizable by commercial anti‐human phospho‐GCN2 antibodies.

Importin 7 mediates the nuclear import of HIV‐1 integrase via a specific interacting interface

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
HIV‐1 integrase enables viral DNA integration into the host genome. By binding to the core domain of the host protein Importin 7 via its C‐terminal domain, the integrase is transported across the nuclear membrane into the nucleus, where integration of the viral genome into host DNA takes place. This translocation is a critical step for subsequent viral

BCG vaccination potentiates oxidative phosphorylation in neonatal myeloid‐derived suppressor cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
BCG vaccination enhances oxidative phosphorylation in neonatal MDSCs, impairing their immunosuppressive function. It upregulates electron transport chain genes and mitochondrial activity, increasing ATP and oxygen consumption. Pharmacological OXPHOS inhibition partially restores suppressive capacity, confirming causality.

Does Pastoral Land-Use Legacy Influence Topsoil Carbon and Nitrogen Accrual Rates in Tallgrass Prairie Restorations?

open access: yesLand, 2021
Restoration can recover degraded ecosystems and ecosystem services. However, effects of restoration on soil nutrient accrual are difficult to predict, partly because prior land use affects rates of soil nutrient recovery.

Field Report from Collaborative Research Center 1625: Heterogeneous Research Data Management Using Ontology Representations

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A unified research data management framework for heterogeneous materials data is presented. The system integrates multimodal datasets using ontologies and knowledge graphs, enabling interoperability and FAIR (findable, accessible, interoperable, reusable) data principles. By linking data across scales and workflows, it supports reproducible, Artifitial

Prospects and limitations for agricultural engineering in the development of sustainable weed control methods – examples from European research [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
This paper gives a brief review of the major achievements in European research on physical weed control methods for agricultural and horticultural crops. Most of the work has emerged from an increasing awareness and concern about pesticide consumption in
