A Machine Learning Perspective on the Brønsted–Evans–Polanyi Relation in Water‐Gas Shift Catalysis on MXenes

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
Machine learning predicts activation energies for key steps in the water‐gas shift reaction on 92 MXenes. Random Forest is identified as the most accurate model. Reaction energy and reactant LogP emerge as key descriptors. The approach provides a predictive framework for catalyst design, grounded in density functional theory data and validated through ...

Scaling limit for a drainage network model

open access: yes, 2008
We consider the two dimensional version of a drainage network model introduced by Gangopadhyay, Roy and Sarkar, and show that the appropriately rescaled family of its paths converges in distribution to the Brownian web.

Comparison of DeePMD, MTP, GAP, ACE and MACE Machine‐Learned Potentials for Radiation‐Damage Simulations: A User Perspective

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
The authors evaluated six machine‐learned interatomic potentials for simulating threshold displacement energies and tritium diffusion in LiAlO2 essential for tritium production. Trained on the same density functional theory data and benchmarked against traditional models for accuracy, stability, displacement energies, and cost, Moment Tensor Potential ...

Rep. Roy Blunt: Unfit to Lead [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Rep. Roy Blunt (R-Mo.), who is vying to be House majority leader, is unfit for leadership because he represents more of the same corrupting, big-money politics that the American public has become disgusted with and that many reformers in Congress are ...

ON THE OSCILLATION SPECTRA OF ULTRA COMPACT STARS

open access: yes, 1995
Quasinormal modes of ultra compact stars with uniform energy density have been calculated. For less compact stars, there is only one very slowly damped polar mode (corresponding to the Kelvin f-mode) for each spherical harmonic index $l$.

Autonomous Recognition of Retained Secretions in Central‐Airway Based on Deep Learning for Adult Patients Receiving Invasive Mechanical Ventilation

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This work presents a deep learning model to autonomously recognize and classify the secretion retention into three levels for patients receiving invasive mechanical ventilation, achieving 89.08% accuracy. This model can be implemented to ventilators by edge computing, whose feasibility is approved.

Effect of cross-linked biodegradable polymers on sustained release of sodium diclofenac-loaded microspheres

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 2013
The objective of this study was to formulate an oral sustained release delivery system of sodium diclofenac(DS) based on sodium alginate (SA) as a hydrophilic carrier in combination with chitosan (CH) and sodium carboxymethyl cellulose (SCMC) as drug ...

Identification of models of the labor market [PDF]

open access: yes
This chapter discusses identification of common selection models of the labor market. We start with the classic Roy model and show how it can be identified with exclusion restrictions.

Revealing gender-specific costs of STEM in an extended Roy model of major choice

open access: yes, 2020
We derive sharp bounds on the non consumption utility component in an extended Roy model of sector selection. We interpret this non consumption utility component as a compensating wage differential.
