Lycopene‐rich food biomolecules from tomato processing waste: Green recovery, biopolymer‐based stabilisation, functional food applications and health relevance

open access: yesFood Biomacromolecules, EarlyView.
Abstract Tomato processing waste, particularly peel and pomace, is a sustainable and low‐cost source of lycopene‐rich food biomolecules. Lycopene, a lipophilic carotenoid with an extended conjugated structure, provides intense red colour, antioxidant potential and functional value to tomato‐derived ingredients.

Marine Macroalgae as a Safe Healthy Food While Meeting Food Security Challenges Arising From Climate Changes

open access: yesFood Safety and Health, EarlyView.
Planned harvesting and processing of marine macroalgae could meet future global food needs and mitigate fuel‐originated carbon dioxide responsible for climate change. Microalgal foods are nutritious and safe. The utilization of macroalgae would avoid environmental problems arising from the release of overgrowing macroalgae caused by heatwaves, which ...

A Reassessment of Petrochemistry of ~1.2 Ga Tonalitic Rocks of the Northern Tugela Terrane, Natal Metamorphic Belt, South Africa: Further Constraints on the Evolution of This Belt

open access: yesGeological Journal, EarlyView.
Our petrochemical studies on ~1.2 Ga granitoids of the Natal Metamorphic Belt, South Africa, do not suggest any property similar to Phanerozoic‐style subduction‐related granitoids. Plot of Kotongweni Tonalite in Y versus Sr diagram (after Moyen 2011), note that most samples have Sr/Y < 50.

Impact of China's National Volume‐Based Procurement Policy on Cost, Volume, and Market Structure: An Interrupted Time‐Series Analysis of Montelukast Sodium

open access: yesHealth Care Science, EarlyView.
Using ARIMA‐based interrupted time‐series analysis, this study reveals that China's NVBP policy significantly reduced daily costs and enhanced affordability, driving generic substitution and the elimination of low‐quality products. Additionally, non‐winning manufacturers adopted strategic pricing behaviors to segment the market.
