Empirical Analysis and Future Projection of the Ratio of Primary Energy Production to Consumption (RPC) in Turkey and Upgrading Policies

open access: yes, 2011
This study was aimed at obtaining numerical equations to estimate of the ratio of primary energy production to consumption (RPC) and the ratio of primary energy import to consumption (RIC) of Turkey by using different energy and economic indicators and ...

3D‐Printed Optical Volatile Organic Compound Sensors Based on Donor‐Substituted Coumarin Thermally Activated Delayed Fluorescence Emitters

open access: yesSmall Science, Volume 6, Issue 6, June 2026.
Donor–acceptor coumarin emitters displaying thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) are formulated into photocurable resins and processed by digital light processing (DLP) 3D printing. The resulting printed materials show a sensitive and repeatable photoluminescence response when exposed to volatile organic compounds (VOCs).

Some Properties of Modified Reactive Powder Concrete

open access: yesJournal of Engineering and Sustainable Development, 2012
The term reactive powder concrete (RPC) has been used to describe a fibre reinforced , superplasticized, silica fume- cement mixture with very low water-cement ratio, characterized by the presence of very fine quartz sand (0.15-0.4mm) instead of ...

Local Characteristics of Sand Wave Patterns Are Governed by Underlying Sand Bank: A Linear Stability Approach

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Earth Surface, Volume 131, Issue 6, June 2026.
Abstract Tidal sand waves are dynamic bedforms, observed in shelf seas. In some cases they co‐exist with tidal sand banks, larger‐scale bed features. Sand wave characteristics then vary over the sand bank, migrating anti‐cyclonically around the bank. Yet, little is known about the processes behind sand wave formation on a sand bank characterized by a ...

Environmental Preferences and Functional Variations of Methanotrophs in Northeast Qinghai‐Tibet Plateau Wetlands

open access: yesEnvironmental Microbiology Reports, Volume 18, Issue 3, June 2026.
Significant environmental preference between type I and type II methanotrophs is regulated by soil ion concentration (pH and electrical conductivity) in wetlands. Type II methanotrophs (Methylocystis, etc.) contributes more to soil methane oxidation than type I methanotrophs.

Sex‐Specific Regulation of the Turandot Gene Family Modulates Temperature‐Dependent Lifespan in Drosophila melanogaster

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 25, Issue 6, June 2026.
Multi‐omics analysis in Drosophila reveals that temperature‐driven lifespan changes are actively regulated, not purely thermodynamic. The Turandot gene family mediates this response, and its knockdown extends lifespan across temperatures with sex‐specific effects, establishing tot genes as key genetic regulators of thermal longevity.

The Evolving Landscape of Clinical Aging Clocks: From Epigenetic to Multi‐Omics Integration

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 25, Issue 6, June 2026.
Multi‐omics aging clocks capture biological heterogeneity beyond single‐omics models, improving risk stratification. Key challenges include unknown biological meaning, timescale mismatches, and validation gaps. Future clocks must distinguish pathological damage from adaptive remodeling—damage accumulation is the most actionable target for anti‐aging ...

GLP‐1, GIP, and Glucagon Excursions During a Mixed Meal Tolerance Test in Young and Lean South Asians Versus Europids

open access: yesDiabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, Volume 28, Issue 6, Page 5078-5090, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Aims South Asians exhibit an unfavourable metabolic phenotype characterized by visceral obesity, insulin resistance and dyslipidemia. While various hormones play a critical role in regulating postprandial energy metabolism, it remains unclear whether they respond differently to food intake.

Assessing the Impact of Spatial Resolution and Hyperparameters on Automatic Agricultural Parcel Delineation Using the Segment Anything Model With Multi‐Resolution and Super‐Resolved Satellite Imagery

open access: yesTransactions in GIS, Volume 30, Issue 4, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Accurate and automatic determination of the boundaries of agricultural parcels is essential for planning sustainable agricultural policies, managing agricultural production, tracking products and enabling precision farming applications. In recent years, pre‐trained visual base models with zero‐shot segmentation capabilities, such as the ...
