RR Lyrae Variables in Stellar Systems
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2009The pioneering studies of RR Lyrae stars in globular clusters by Oosterhoff and by Sawyer Hogg in the 1930s and 1940s called attention to interesting systematic differences among RR Lyrae populations in different systems. When such studies were extended to the dwarf spheroidal companions of the Milky Way in the 1960s, it was found that the average ...

An Unusual RR Lyrae-Type Variable
Publications of the Astronomical Society of the Pacific, 1974The high-velocity star HD 202759 is a variable star with an irregular amplitude of about 0 '08 and a quasi-period of about 12 hours. Its surface gravity, log g is 3.1 and its effective temperature 7400 K. It is probably an RR Lyrae star close to the blue edge of the instability strip.
