NextGenerationEU Landing: Assessing the Territorial Allocation of Italy's Recovery and Resilience Facility Funding

open access: yesJournal of Regional Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In response to the COVID‐19 crisis, the European Union introduced NextGenerationEU, its largest stimulus package to date. We focus on Italy, the program's largest beneficiary, and analyse the territorial distribution of funds. Although centrally coordinated, most expenditures were awarded through calls and implemented by local governments ...

Metal–Metal Cooperative C─F and S─F Bond Cleavage by Low‐Valent Tetracobalt Clusters and Water‐Assisted Fluoroarene Hydrodefluorination

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 138, Issue 44, 26 October 2026.
Self‐assembled tetrahedral CoI4 clusters supported by simple bipyridine‐based ligands undergo core rearrangement to cleave S─F and C(sp2)─F bond, forming fluoride‐bridged tetracobalt(II)‐oxo clusters, while exposure of cobalt(I) clusters to molecular oxygen yields cubane‐type cobalt(III) oxo clusters.

The Need and Capacity for Resilience in European Labour Markets: An Inequalities in Resilience Framework

open access: yesSocial Policy &Administration, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Resilience has become a prominent concept in EU social and economic policy, positioned as a response to megatrends such as technological change, labour market deregulation and demographic shifts. This article critically reflects on how resilience is often conceptualised, and argues that its applications in EU policy insufficiently account for ...

Caenorhabditis elegans as an in vivo model system for human inherited primary arrhythmia syndromes

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend Most genes involved in inherited primary arrhythmia syndromes (IPAS) are conserved in Caenorhabditis elegans, where genetic manipulation enables functional characterization of variants, identification of regulatory proteins, and in vivo drug testing.

The ultrarapid delayed rectifier potassium current has important functional role in the repolarization reserve of canine and human ventricular muscle

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend The ultrarapid delayed rectifier potassium current (IKur) has long been considered an atrial‐specific current with no functional role in the ventricles, despite evidence of its expression in ventricular myocytes. In the present study we challenged this prevailing concept and investigated the potential role of IKur in ventricular ...

The Politics of Recovery : The EU’s RRF and the Quest for Democratic Legitimacy

open access: yes
This thesis investigates the democratic legitimacy of the European Union’s Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF), the core component of the COVID-19 recovery package, NextGenerationEU. The RRF had 90 percent of the total NextGenerationEU budget. The RRF

Impact of mineral nutrition and biopriming on crop performance, energetics, and the carbon footprint in rainfed castor bean (Ricinus communis L.)

open access: yesEnergy Nexus
Suboptimal nutrition augmented by soil moisture stress adversely impacts crop performance in rainfed agriculture. At the same situation, conjunctive use of bioinoculants with mineral nutrients alleviates moisture stress and amplifies nutrient ...

Calibration‐Free Estimation of Cerebrovascular Reactivity From Resting‐State BOLD fMRI Using Reconstructed Respiratory Fluctuations

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, Volume 96, Issue 6, Page 2755-2766, December 2026.
ABSTRACT Purpose Cerebrovascular reactivity (CVR) provides an important index of vascular health and is conventionally quantified using a hypercapnic gas or breath‐hold challenge in conjunction with blood‐oxygen‐level‐dependent functional magnetic resonance imaging (BOLD‐fMRI).

Real‐World Longitudinal Data on the Impact of Hydroxychloroquine Blood Level Monitoring on Lupus Outcomes: Results of a Prospective Longitudinal Cohort Study

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Volume 78, Issue 11, Page 1618-1630, November 2026.
Objective Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) is a cornerstone therapy in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), but the weight‐based dosing does not account for clinical factors that can introduce individual variability in drug metabolism and clearance. We leveraged longitudinal data from a prospective SLE cohort to identify clinical factors that predict ...

Safety of Prescription Nonsteroidal Anti‐inflammatory Drugs in Adults With Inflammatory Bowel Disease: Data From a Large Administrative Claims Cohort

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Volume 78, Issue 11, Page 1781-1790, November 2026.
Objective The concern that nonsteroidal anti‐inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) may precipitate flares of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) has limited their use in managing musculoskeletal symptoms in those with IBD, but safety data are mixed. Methods This retrospective cohort study included patients with IBD aged at least 18 years from Optum's deidentified ...
