An Integrated ECC-MAC Based on RS Code

2009
This paper presents a message authentication code (MAC) with error-correcting capabilities which can be used for wireless transmission. Also the paper introduces a new nonlinear mixing function `Nmix ' which is cryptographically strong compared to other existing method and secured against linear, differential and other conventional cryptanalysis.

Reed-Solomon(RS) Coding Gain on Correlated Rayleigh Fading

2019 IEEE AFRICON, 2019
This paper investigates the effects of channel coding in correlated fading channels using Reed-Solomon (RS) codes. The bit error probability performance of RS is carried out by considering binary phase shift keying (BFSK) modulation in correlated Rayleigh Fading channels.

Decoding of interleaved RS codes with the Euclidean algorithm

2008 IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory, 2008
A novel method for joint decoding of interleaved Reed-Solomon (RS) codes is presented which is based on an extension of the Euclidean algorithm. This method differs from the known multi-sequence shift register algorithms which is shown by an example.

Bandwidth efficient RS coding in asymmetric digital subscriber lines

WCC 2000 - ICCT 2000. 2000 International Conference on Communication Technology Proceedings (Cat. No.00EX420), 2002
The ADSL standard is based on using hard decision decoding of Reed-Solomon (RS) codes. The standard states that as an option a four-dimensional 16-state trellis code can be concatenated with an RS code. The resulting structure is rather complex mainly because of the associated complexity of the Viterbi decoder of the trellis code.

Analysis for RS-coding and fountain-code for erasure coding

Applied and Computational Engineering, 2023
This research provides an in-depth analysis of RS-coding and fountain-coding for erasure cod-ing, focusing on the different circumstances that data storage may face during daily usage. The essay outlines the fundamental information of RS-code and fountain-code, and com-pares their effectiveness in addressing varying degrees of erasure in the data disk.

Iterative Decoding of LDPC-RS-Coded Multiple Description Image

2019
LDPC-RS product code has emerged as a promising technique for error correction in cloud transmission of multimedia information because of its superior error correcting capabilities. In this paper, an iterative decoding scheme is proposed for forward error correction-based multiple description (FEC-based MDC) image transmitted over wireless channel.

A blind digital watermarking scheme based on RS coding

2019 International Conference on Image and Video Processing, and Artificial Intelligence, 2019
According to the robustness of digital watermarking, a robust blind watermarking algorithm based on RS coding technology is proposed and implemented. Before embedding watermark signal, RS channel encoding is carried out. When embedding and extracting the watermark, the relevance of the wavelet transform coefficients are calculated to extract and ...

ECC performance of interleaved RS codes with burst errors

IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 1998
In this paper, we describe a computationally efficient way of calculating the probability of decoding error when a Reed Solomon code is utilized to record data over a channel that produces correlated symbol errors. We assume that the channel errors can be described by a Markovian model with a small number of states.

Trellis Decoding of RS codes in Mobile Satellite Communication Channel

1999
In this paper, trellis decoding methods with Reed Solomon (RS) codes are proposed as an efficient coding schemes in mobile satellite communication systems. These schemes can be used adaptively in time varying fading conditions of mobile satellite communication channels.
