Implementation of Reed-Solomon RS(255,239) Code
In this paper the construction of Reed-Solomon RS(255,239) codeword is described and the process of coding and decoding a message is simulated and verified.

Applied quasi-cyclic LDPC codes from doubly-extended RS code and cyclic MDS code
Based on doubly-extended RS codes and cyclic MDS codes, two construction schemes were proposed for ap-plied quasi-cyclic LDPC codes whose Tanner graph is free of 4-cycles.In the first approach, all the nonzero codewords within a doubly-extended RS code ...

This chapter introduces the Reed-Solomon (RS) codes and the distributed RS-coded cooperative system over the Rayleigh fading channel, where the encoding and decoding procedures of the RS codes are elaborated. Besides, two optimized selection approaches, i.e., the exhaustive search approach and partial search approach, are employed in the relay to ...

A Novel Concatenated Coding Scheme: RS-SC-LDPC Codes
A novel concatenated coding scheme is introduced, where the Reed-Solomon (RS) code is concatenated with the spatially coupled low-density parity-check (SC-LDPC) code, namely the RS-SC-LDPC code. We first propose the locally systematic encoding of the inner code and its termination when considering the concatenated code has a finite length.

Soft-decision decoding of RS codes [PDF]
By introducing a few simplifying assumptions we derive a simple condition for successful decoding using the Koetter-Vardy algorithm for soft-decision decoding of RS codes. We show that the algorithm has a significant advantage over hard decision decoding when the code rate is low, when two or more sets of received symbols have substantially different ...

Entanglement-assisted quantum error-correcting codes from RS codes and BCH codes with extension degree 2 [PDF]
Entanglement-assisted quantum error correcting codes (EAQECCs) constructed from Reed-Solomon codes and BCH codes are considered in this work. It is provided a complete and explicit formula for the parameters of EAQECCs coming from any Reed-Solomon code, for the Hermitian metric, and from any BCH code with extension degree $2$ and consecutive cyclotomic

A novel BCS code in F-OFDM system: a promising candidate for 5G wireless communication systems [PDF]
Due to the rapid growth in wireless communication systems, Long Term Evolution (LTE), mainly based on Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM), no longer meets wireless communication systems request and higher data rate requirements. Thus,

The expansion of Brazilian agriculture: Soil erosion scenarios
During the next 10 years Brazil’s agricultural area will expand to meet increased domestic and worldwide demand for food, fuel, and fiber. Present choices regarding land use will determine to what degree this expansion will have adverse effects that ...

Optimal Locally Repairable Codes and Connections to Matroid Theory [PDF]
Petabyte-scale distributed storage systems are currently transitioning to erasure codes to achieve higher storage efficiency. Classical codes like Reed-Solomon are highly sub-optimal for distributed environments due to their high overhead in single ...
