Abstract Objective Long‐term memory deficits are often seen in patients with temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE). Recently, studies showed that patients with hippocampal sclerosis (HS) type 2, which presents with severe neuron loss in CA1 only, performed within the normal range. However, up to 30% of HS type 2 cases have memory deficits.

Two modes of input processing in relation to risk of sperm competition in mammals [PDF]
Much research has been focused on the ‘output’ or response of males to particular risks of sperm competition (RSC). Lately, there has also been some interest on the types of information that males may use to assess RSC (RSC inputs). In contrast, there is

Soil Phosphorus Uptake by Continuously Cropped Lupinus albus: A New Microcosm Design [PDF]
When grown in soils with sparingly available phosphorus (P), white lupin (Lupinus albus L.) forms special root structures, called cluster roots, which secrete large amounts of organic acids and concomitantly acidify the rhizosphere.

Owing to the severe electromagnetic wave (EMW) pollution and the increasingly intricate operating environments, an excellent EMW absorber with multiple functions has become imperative. Herein, 3D/0D‐1D hierarchical carbon/Ni nanoparticles‐carbon noncoils (CNCs) composite foams with multi‐dimensional, multi‐interfacial and multi‐path structures can be ...

Retrosplenial cortex and aversive conditioning
The retrosplenial cortex (RSC) is well-known for its contribution to episodic memory, as well as contextual and spatial learning and memory. However, two literatures have also emerged examining the role of the RSC in aversive conditioning. The purpose of

ABSTRACT Food security in Kerala depends on effective irrigation, but poor‐quality irrigation water poses threats such as salinity, sodicity and reduced soil productivity. Although past assessments have been localised, this study presents the first comprehensive, statewide evaluation of irrigation water suitability across 44 major rivers in Kerala.
