Knowledge and attitudes about transcranial magnetic stimulation among psychiatrists in China

open access: yesBMC Psychiatry, 2020
Background Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) is a noninvasive form of brain stimulation. It has been used in many mental health institutions to treat mental disorders worldwide.

Bilateral repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation modulates the hemispheric imbalance in major depressive disorder. [PDF]

open access: yesGen Psychiatr
ABSTRACT Background Major depressive disorder (MDD) is characterised by interhemispheric functional imbalance, yet the neuromodulatory mechanisms underlying its correction remain poorly understood. Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) has shown promise in restoring hemispheric balance, but evidence regarding its effects on alpha‐band ...

RBM10 Deficiency Promotes Anti‐PD‐1 Resistance in LUAD via STING Alternative Splicing‐Driven CCL7 Signaling and Macrophage Polarization

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
RBM10 deficiency promotes anti‐PD‐1 resistance in lung adenocarcinoma by altering STING alternative splicing, which enhances CCL7 secretion and CCR2‐dependent M2 macrophage polarization. A positive feedback loop via mitochondrial transfer sustains this immunosuppression.

Neurorehabilitation with Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation and Peripheral Magnetic Stimulation for Post-stroke Motor Recovery: A Three-arm Randomized Controlled Trial

open access: yesNeurologia Medico-Chirurgica
We conducted a three-arm randomized controlled trial to assess the efficacy of upper-extremity motor recovery among post-stroke patients. Subacute post-stroke patients (n = 69) were randomly assigned into 3 groups: rehabilitation alone, rehabilitation ...

rTMS for clozapine refractory schizophrenia – a systematic review and pairwise meta-analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Dear Editor, Only 40% of people with treatment refractory schizophrenia will respond to clozapine (Siskind et al., 2017), even though is the most effective antipsychotic for this population (Land et al., 2017; Siskind et al., 2016).

Personalized Network‐Guided Neuromodulation Enhances Human Working Memory

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A personalized neuromodulation framework combining individualized functional brain network targeting with real‐time neural decoding is introduced. Using concurrent TMS–fMRI, participant‐specific stimulation targets and optimal frequencies are identified. Only optimal‐frequency stimulation improves working memory across sessions.

RTMS parameters in tinnitus trials: a systematic review [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Over the past few years extensive body of research was produced investigating the effects of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) for the treatment of chronic tinnitus with heterogeneous results.

Ethical Issues in Neuromodulation

open access: yesPsychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, 2015
Although, brain stimulation offers noteworthy benefits as a treatment option for mood disorders and a variety of debilitating neurologic and psychiatric conditions, they also raise some ethical concerns. The ethical issues related to character traits and
