Determination of Rubber in Rubber-Bearing Plants

Rubber Chemistry and Technology, 1933
Abstract THE determination of the true rubber content of both raw and manufactured rubber has been the subject of extensive investigation. Search has failed to reveal any corresponding record covering studies applicable to rubber-bearing plants.

Water-Lubricated Soft-Rubber Bearings

Journal of Fluids Engineering, 1932
Abstract Rubber bearings lubricated with water are found to have remarkably low coefficients of friction and to give excellent service under many conditions. The softness of the rubber makes these bearings stand up in the presence of sand and grit, and it also makes the laws of lubrication governing these bearings differ from the ...

Behaviour of lead-rubber bearings

Structural Engineering and Mechanics, 1998
Experimental work undertaken to investigate the behaviour of lead-rubber bearings under compression and a combination of compression and shear or rotation has been reported on elsewhere. However, it is difficult to determine the state of stress within the bearings in terms of the applied forces and the interaction between the lead plug and the steel ...

Rubber supported hydrostatic thrust bearings with rigid bearing surfaces

Tribology International, 1997
Abstract The film pressure of tilted hydrostatic thrust bearings results in a tilt opposing moment. This self-aligning action of the tilt opposing moment can be used effectively to reduce the deflection of the film contour. For this reduction some adjustment (elasticity) of the bearing system is necessary.

Anti-seismic rubber bearing

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1991
There is provided an anti-seismic rubber bearing made up of a laminate structure formed by bonding a plurality of rigid plates having stiffness properties and a plurality of flexible plates having viscoelastic properties each other alternately, and flanges each attached to the upper and lower surfaces of the laminate structure, characterized by that ...

Experimental Study of FRP Rubber Bearing

Advanced Materials Research, 2010
FRP (fiber reinforce polymer) rubber bearing is a novel isolator improved from traditional laminated rubber bearing. Several specimens were manufactured to study the mechanic properties of FRP rubber bearing. Vertical experiments are conducted to study the compression capacity and compression modulus of the bearing and horizontal experiments are ...

Steel-rubber seismic isolation bearing

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1998
A seismic isolation bearing for bridges, buildings and machines with steel reinforced rubber body and external or internal tapered steel pin uniform yielders. The pins are fixed to load plates and intersect in mid plate or in the bearing body. External pins may be threaded ended to be used with nuts and other hardware as temporary press for assembly ...
