Effect of the Recycled Rubber on the Properties of Recycled Rubber/Recycled Polypropylene Blends

open access: yesIngeniería y Ciencia, 2015
This study evaluates the influence of recycled rubber (RR) with a specific particle size in the properties of blends, blended recycled polypropylene/polyethylene (RPP) and RR (RPP/RR). The proportions of RPP/RR employed to obtain the blends were as follows: 90/10 (PP90), 75/25 (PP75), 60/40 (PP60) and 45/55 (PP45).

Material recovery and recycling of waste tyres-A review

open access: yesCleaner Materials, 2022
The largest consumer of natural and synthetic rubbers around the world is the tyre manufacturing industry. The recycling and disposal of end-of-life tyres (ELTs) are major challenges in waste management due to its complex structure and composition.

Novel uses of recycled rubber in civil applications

open access: yesAdvanced Industrial and Engineering Polymer Research, 2022
Waste tyres and their accumulation is a global environmental concern, as 1.5 billion of waste tyres are generated annually in the world. The products are not biodegradable and, if disposed of in landfills and stockpiles, are recognized for leaching toxic

The influence of the share of recycled tire on the rubber mixture properties [PDF]

open access: yesHemijska Industrija, 2010
Rubber granules of different sizes were obtained by mechanical recycling of waste rubber, which can be used as a substitute for black fillers. The aim of this paper is to estimate the influence of the share of recycled rubber in the static (hardness ...

Monomer Recovery and Nano-Silica Separation From Biodegraded Waste Silicone Rubber Shed of Composite Insulator

open access: yesFrontiers in Materials, 2022
Composite insulators are widely used in the external insulation of transmission lines due to their excellent pollution flashover resistance. However, the large amount of silicone rubber material is difficult to degrade naturally in decommissioned ...

Recycling of End-of-Life Tires (ELTs) for Sustainable Geotechnical Applications: A New Zealand Perspective

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2021
End-of-life tires (ELTs) are tires, unusable in their original form, which go into a waste management scheme (for recycling and energy recovery purposes), or otherwise are disposed.

Recycling of Polyamide from Scrap Tyres as Polymeric Composites

open access: yesResearch in Agricultural Engineering, 2015
Rubber granulate, metal waste and textile waste (polyamide fibres) come into the mechanical process of waste tyres recycling. The pollution and degradation processes are problematic in using of secondary raw material.
