Dual Functions of Dietary Rubber Seed Oil Supplementation: Enriching N‐3 Polyunsaturated Fatty Acids and Enhancing Antioxidant Capacity in Pekin Ducks

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
Dietary RSO supplementation improved growth performance, simultaneously enriched n‐3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (n‐3 PUFA), and enhanced antioxidant capacity in Pekin ducks, which suggested that RSO has the potential to be a novel n‐3 PUFA source and an antioxidant for Pekin ducks to generate animal functional foods.

RUBBER TREE MINI CLONAL GARDEN: ELECTRIC CONDUCTIVITY OF THE NUTRITIONAL SOLUTION IN THE PRODUCTION OF PROPAGULES

open access: yesRevista Árvore
The rubber tree (Hevea brasiliensis) is an important forest species that yields natural rubber. Traditionally, rubber tree grafts are cultivated in clonal gardens on soil, which necessitates enormous acreage.

Production and Formulation of Alcanivorax borkumensis SK2 Cell Powders for Marine Oil Spill Bioremediation

open access: yesBiotechnology and Applied Biochemistry, EarlyView.
Abstract Oil spills pose severe threats to marine ecosystems and coastal communities. Alcanivorax borkumensis SK2, a marine bacterium with superior hydrocarbon‐degrading capabilities, emerges as a promising agent for bioremediation. This study identified an economical growth substrate for A.

A review of the historic and present ecological role of aquatic and shoreline wood, from forest to deep sea

open access: yesBiological Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The ecology of forests, their losses, and terrestrial wood decomposition dynamics have been intensively studied and reviewed. In the aquatic realm, reviews have concentrated on large wood (LW) in rivers and the transition from freshwater to marine environments in the Pacific Northwest of North America. However, a comprehensive global synthesis

Probability prediction of true‐triaxial compressive strength of intact rocks based on the improved PSO‐RVM model

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
In this work, we propose an improved particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm and develop an improved PSO‐relevance vector machine (RVM) model as a substitute for traditional true‐triaxial testing. The model's high prediction accuracy was validated through comparisons with two other machine learning methods and five three‐dimensional Hoek–Brown type

Modelling the rubber tree system

open access: yes, 2006
An effort is made to develop a model that aims to predict the growth and production of rubber under different environmental conditions as well as different agroforestry options. The work begins with the development of the simple static model, namely Hevea Version 1.0, which acts as a precursor for development of a dynamic model.

Seismic Enhancement of Masonry‐Infilled Substandard Reinforced Concrete Frames Using Lightweight Steel Exoskeleton

open access: yesEarthquake Engineering &Structural Dynamics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT A significant portion of existing reinforced concrete (RC) structures in seismically active regions was constructed prior to the adoption of modern seismic design standards, leaving them highly susceptible to earthquake‐induced damage. The vulnerabilities of these structures, often exacerbated by material degradation, have been starkly ...
