Fungal-Infected Weeds: A Potential Source of Leaf Spot Disease in Rubber Trees from Southern Thailand

open access: yesJournal of Fungi
The rubber tree (Hevea brasiliensis) is an economically important crop in Thailand. Severe defoliation caused by emerging diseases has been reported to substantially reduce rubber yields during the leaf fall phase.

EVSS‐Based Simulation Techniques for the Viscoelastic Fluids With Pure Polymer Melts Using Three‐Field Approach

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical Methods in Fluids, EarlyView.
This paper presents a finite element method for simulating highly viscoelastic flows of pure polymer melts using the Elastic Viscous Stress Splitting formulation. The method avoids higher‐order derivatives in the weak formulation by reformulating the convective term in the constitutive equation.

Application Research of Microstructured Flexible Sensors in Rehabilitative Wearable Sensing

open access: yesiNew Medicine, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Flexible sensors enable the continuous, real‐time monitoring of the physiological and movement signals of patients, providing data support for precise rehabilitation strategies and playing a crucial role in rehabilitation medicine. However, traditional rigid sensors are often incompatible with dynamic body contours due to their high material ...

Method for Lignin Analysis in Wood by Fluorescence Microscopy

open access: yesMicroscopy Research and Technique, EarlyView.
Autofluorescence in extractive‐free wood slides is a promising approach for investigating the relationship between fluorescence intensity and lignin content, particularly when combined with automated photomicrograph analysis using ImageJ. ABSTRACT Native Amazonian species present high anatomical variation which is reflected in their lignin content ...

Electrical Treeing in Silicone Rubber

open access: yes, 2011
Electrical treeing has been widely studied in a range of polymeric materials. In these investigations, the morphology and PD patterns associated with the growth of electrical trees in a model transparent silicone rubber were investigated using a new system recently developed at Southampton.

Wildfires' Cost for Societal Welfare: Economic Evaluation of Forestry Ecosystem Services Losses in Southern Italy

open access: yesLand Degradation &Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Forest ecosystem services (ESs) are garnering increasing public attention as awareness grows regarding society's fundamental dependence on them for well‐being. Forest fires, one of the major disturbances of ESs, are becoming more frequent and destructive, exacerbated in part by climate change.
