Intrinsic Mechanical Parameters and their Characterization in Solid‐State Lithium Batteries
This review focuses on the intrinsic mechanical parameters and their associated characterization in solid‐state batteries. The physical significance of mechanics parameters is introduced with exhaustive classifications by elastic, plastic deformations and fracture in bulk, adhesion, friction at interfaces, and mechanical fatigue in cells ...

Through comprehensive operando and postmortem investigations, it is shown that the single‐crystalline LiNiO2 cathodes, even when cycled under stressful conditions that expedite O loss, can retain their bulk redox stability. The predominant cathode degradation mode is the growth of a densified surface layer, which severely impedes Li‐ion diffusion and ...

Tiling Robotics: A New Paradigm of Shape‐Morphing Reconfigurable Robots
Tiling robotics is a novel paradigm of shape‐morphing reconfigurable robots, defining them as polyform‐inspired machines capable of transforming between at least two polymorphic shapes. Various reconfiguration‐enabling and locomotion mechanisms of tiling robots are comparatively analyzed, with the electromechanical developments, along with a proposed ...

A STOCHASTIC MODEL FOR THE OPTIMAL REPLACEMENT OF RUBBER TREES [PDF]
Recognizing the lack of realism in optimal replacement analyses that assume constant prices and yield patterns over time, a stochastic model appropriate to rubber production is developed. Data drawn from Peninsular Malaysia are used to implement the model.

Personalized Kirigami Strain Sensors for in vivo Applications
Rapid prototyping of strain sensors is demonstrated using a laser cutter that both converts carbon‐based material to strain responsible graphene and generates cuts in a kirigami‐style pattern that allows enhanced substrate flexibility. This method is used to generate wearable sensors for monitoring heart rate, limb/finger motion, and abdominal ...

Reprogrammable, In‐Materia Matrix‐Vector Multiplication with Floppy Modes
This article describes a metamaterial that mechanically computes matrix‐vector multiplications, one of the fundamental operations in artificial intelligence models. The matrix multiplication is encoded in floppy modes, near‐zero force deformations of soft matter systems.
