A Study on the Mechanical Properties and Performance of Fibrous Rubberized Concrete

Buildings
Conventional concrete does not often meet engineering needs in high-impact scenarios, such as airport runways and bridges, due to its brittleness, low tensile strength and insufficient resistance to dynamic loading.

A Review – Manufacturing on Rubberized Concrete Filled Recycled Tire Rubber

Key Engineering Materials, 2015
This paper aims to investigate the potential use of recycled tire rubber in concrete. In Malaysia, rubber consumption of tires in January – June 2014, rose up to 8.4% from 0.388 million tonnes. These numbers keep on increasing year-over-year with the numbers of vehicles, as do the future problems relating to waste tires.

Effect of rubber particle modification on properties of rubberized concrete

Journal of Wuhan University of Technology-Mater. Sci. Ed., 2014
To improve the combination of cement matrix and waste tire rubber particles in concrete, the rubber particles were treated with acrylic acid (ACA) and polyethylene glycol (PEG) for grafting hydrophilic groups on their surfaces. The X-Ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and surface contact angle were used to characterize the hydrophilicity and surface ...

RUBBERIZED HYBRID FIBRE REINFORCED CONCRETE

2012
The aim of this paper is to demonstrate that by using industrial and recycled steel fibres together with recycled rubber, high quality rubberized hybrid fibre reinforced concrete (RHFRC) can be prepared. In such way, environmental and economic savings are provided without significant influence on mechanical and durability properties of concrete.

Study on Rubber Particles Modified Concrete

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2013
After rubber particles are incorporated into ordinary cement concrete, properties of concrete are changed. Specifically, by comparison with concrete without rubber particles, it reduces that the collapsed slump, apparent density, cubic compressive strength, splitting tensile strength and elastic modulus of rubber particles modified concrete.

Durability characteristics of lightweight rubberized concrete

Construction and Building Materials, 2019
Abstract This study experimentally investigates the durability characteristics of rubberized concrete up to 30% rubber content. The durability characteristics including the carbonation depth, standard potential, water absorption, and initial rate of absorption of rubberized concrete were investigated.

Durability of crumbed rubber concrete /

2022
Thesis (PhD(Civil Engineering))--University of South Australia, 2022. Includes bibliographical references (pages 243-251) Rubber particles made from end-of-life tyres have gained popularity as a potential replacement for aggregate in concrete. All researchers found that rubber particles reduced the compressive strength of the concrete.

Rubberized concrete under confinement

2017
Waste tire disposal is becoming a significant environmental concern due to lack of landfill space. Tire stockpiles reduce biodiversity and contain soluble toxic chemicals, which cause several environmental problems. Recently, significant attention has been placed to the use of rubber in concrete to produce rubberized concrete.

Seismic behaviour of rubberized concrete columns

2023
In New Zealand, the annual generation of approximately 6.5 million end-of-life tires has become a growing concern due to their problematic disposal practices. Despite the relatively small volume, official estimates have indicated a recovery rate of around 30% in recent decades. Therefore, recognizing recycled tire materials as a valuable source of high-
