Self‐Immolative Activatable Nanoassembly toward Immuno‐Photodynamic Therapy in TME

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A quinone methide‐gated, self‐immolative, H2O2‐responsive nano‐photosensitizer (Pyz/PS) is developed for targeted immuno‐photodynamic therapy. Pyz/PS selectively activates within tumor microenvironments, restores photosensitizer activity, generates ROS, and depletes intracellular GSH, enhancing oxidative stress.

Calculation and Analysis of Helium-permeation-induced Frequency Drift of the Rubidium Atomic Clock

open access: yesChinese Journal of Magnetic Resonance
Due to the collision-shift effect, helium permeation into the vapor cell causes a time-dependent frequency drift in rubidium atomic clock. To quantify this shift, a cylindrical vapor cell with dimensions of 1.8 cm in diameter, 1.6 cm in height, and 1 mm ...

Upconversion Nanoparticles Embedded Photonic Contact Lens for Transepithelial Corneal Crosslinking Using Hyaluronate – Riboflavin Conjugate

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A minimally invasive, transepithelial corneal cross‐linking (TE‐CXL) approach is presented using upconversion nanoparticles (UCNPs)‐loaded contact lenses (UCLs), after topical delivery of hyaluronate–riboflavin conjugates. The NIR‐to‐UV/blue light conversion by UCNPs in a UCL can activate riboflavin for TE‐CXL, resulting in the biomechanical strength ...

Microfabricated Vapor Cells with Reflective Sidewalls for Chip Scale Atomic Sensors

open access: yesMicromachines, 2018
We investigate the architecture of microfabricated vapor cells with reflective sidewalls for applications in chip scale atomic sensors. The optical configuration in operation is suitable for both one-beam and two-beam (pump & probe) schemes.

A Solvent‐Free, Dry‐Processed Li‐Ion Battery Enabled by Dual Binders and Nanostructured Aluminum Current Collectors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A dual‐binder dry‐processed electrode (DB‐DPE) combining PTFE and PVDF with a nanostructured Al current collector (NSA) forms a mechanically interlocked interface that significantly improves adhesion and reduces interfacial resistance. With an active material content as high as 96 wt.%, the NSA‐based DB‐DPE enables high‐mass‐loading operation (12.5 mAh

Spectral emission from the alkali inductively-coupled plasma: Theory and experiment

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2018
The weakly-ionized, alkali inductively-coupled plasma (ICP) has a long history as the light source for optical pumping. Today, its most significant application is perhaps in the rubidium atomic frequency standard (RAFS), arguably the workhorse of atomic ...

Evaluation of Long Term Performance of Continuously Running Atomic Fountains

open access: yes, 2014
An ensemble of rubidium atomic fountain clocks has been put into operation at the U.S. Naval Observatory (USNO). These fountains are used as continuous clocks in the manner of commercial cesium beams and hydrogen masers for the purpose of improved timing

Broadband, Flexible, Skin‐Compatible Carbon Dots/Graphene Photodetectors for Wearable Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Broadband, flexible photodetectors integrating nitrogen‐rich carbon dots with single‐layer graphene on plastic substrates are demonstrated. A biocompatible chitosan–glycerol electrolyte enables efficient low‐voltage gating and on‐skin operation. The devices exhibit ultraviolet‐to‐near‐infrared response, mechanical robustness under bending, and verified

Modulating Interfacial Potential Gradients in Metal−Carbon Catalysts via Phase‐Engineering for Lithium–Sulfur Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
It is elucidated that phase engineering of cobalt modulates the interfacial potential gradients of cobalt–carbon electrocatalysts, enhancing the intrinsic electrocatalytic performance. Modulating the dominant crystalline phase of cobalt from a hexagonal close‐packed to a face‐centered cubic enriches the electron density of carbon shells, thereby ...
