Spectral emission from the alkali inductively-coupled plasma: Theory and experiment

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2018
The weakly-ionized, alkali inductively-coupled plasma (ICP) has a long history as the light source for optical pumping. Today, its most significant application is perhaps in the rubidium atomic frequency standard (RAFS), arguably the workhorse of atomic ...

Computational Studies of Light Shift in Raman-Ramsey Interference-Based Atomic Clock

open access: yes, 2014
Determining light shift in Raman-Ramsey interference is important for the development of atomic frequency standards based on a vapor cell. We have accurately calculated light shift in Raman-Ramsey interference using the density-matrix equations for a ...

Furan‐Substituted Phosphine‐Oxide as an Efficient Interfacial Modifier for Wide‐Bandgap Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We report phosphine‐oxide interlayers for wide‐bandgap perovskite solar cells, in which tuned P = O Lewis basicity enables selective passivation of buried NiOx/perovskite interfaces and introduces interfacial dipoles that strengthen the built‐in field.

Low-Phase-Noise 10.23 MHz Satellite Navigation Reference Generation Based on 10th-Harmonic-Locked NALM Fiber Laser

open access: yesPhotonics
This paper proposes a method to generate a low-noise 10.23 MHz time-frequency reference signal based on high-order harmonic locking of the repetition rate (fr) of an optical frequency comb (OFC).

Atomic Layer Deposition in Transistors and Monolithic 3D Integration

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Transistors are fundamental building blocks of modern electronics. This review summarizes recent progress in atomic layer deposition (ALD) for the synthesis of two‐dimensional (2D) metal oxides and transition‐metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs), with particular emphasis on their enabling role in monolithic three‐dimensional (M3D) integration for next ...

Temperature Dependence Cancellation of the Cs Clock Frequency in the Presence of Ne Buffer Gas

open access: yes, 2011
The temperature dependence of the Cs clock transition frequency in a vapor cell filled with Ne buffer gas has been measured. The experimental setup is based on the coherent population trapping (CPT) technique and a temporal Ramsey interrogation allowing ...

Taming the Immiscibility of Gold, Iron, and Boron to Craft Chemodegradable Nanoparticles for Multimodal Imaging and Radiotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Over half of cancer patients undergo radiotherapy. Laser ablation enabled the synthesis of immiscible Au‐Fe‐B nanoparticles designed as degradable bimodal radiosensitizers for X‐ray radiotherapy (XRT), boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT), and bimodal imaging for X‐ray computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). These nanosensitizers

Characteristics of BeiDou-3 Experimental Satellite Clocks

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2018
The characteristics of the improved Atomic Frequency Standard (AFS) operated on the latest BeiDou-3 experimental satellites are analyzed from day-of-year (DOY) 254 to 281, of the year 2017, considering the following three aspects: stability, periodicity,

Nanotherapies for Atherosclerosis: Targeting, Catalysis, and Energy Transduction

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Atherosclerosis management is hindered by poor drug targeting and plaque heterogeneity. Nanotechnology overcomes these barriers via three core strategies: (1) target‐engineered nanocarriers that achieve lesion‐specific precision via ligand modification, biomimetic camouflage, stimuli‐responsive release, and self‐propelling nanomotors; (2) catalytic ...

A method for measuring the direction of the geomagnetic field to correct of the onboard rubidium atomic clock frequency using an Mz-magnetometer

open access: yesSt. Petersburg Polytechnical University Journal: Physics and Mathematics
The article presents a method developed by the authors for measuring the direction of a magnetic field using an MZ-type quantum magnetometer, the readings of which are used to correct the frequency of an onboard small-sized rubidium atomic clock.
