Permanent hair removal by normal-mode ruby laser.

open access: yesArchives of Dermatology, 1998
OBJECTIVE To assess the permanence of hair removal by normal-mode ruby laser treatment. METHODS Hair removal was measured for 2 years after a single treatment with normal-mode ruby laser pulses (694 nm, 270 microseconds, 6-mm beam diameter ...

Standardization of Suspension and Imaging Mass Cytometry Single‐Cell Readouts for Clinical Decision Making

open access: yesCytometry Part A, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Suspension and imaging mass cytometry are single‐cell, proteomic‐based methods used to characterize tissue composition and structure. Data assessing the consistency of these methods over an extended period of time are still sparse and are needed if mass cytometry‐based methods are to be used clinically.

Treatment of benign and atypical nevi with the normal-mode ruby laser and the Q-switched ruby laser: clinical improvement but failure to completely eliminate nevomelanocytes.

open access: yesArchives of Dermatology, 1999
OBJECTIVE To evaluate the effect of normal-mode and Q-switched ruby laser light (694 nm) on nevomelanocytes of benign, atypical, and congenital nevi. DESIGN Half of the lesion of each of 31 nevi was treated with either the Q-switched ruby laser or the ...

The link of FOXO1 and FOXO4 transcription factors to development of the lens

open access: yesDevelopmental Dynamics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background The FOXOs regulate the transcription of many genes, including ones directly linked to pathways required for lens development. However, this transcription factor family has rarely been studied in the context of development, including the development of the lens.

Astroglial CB1 Reveal Sex‐Specific Synaptic Effects of Amphetamine

open access: yesGlia, EarlyView.
Astroglial CB1R mediates long‐term synaptic plasticity (LTD) in the Nucleus accumbens. Amphetamine saturates adenosine receptors and blocks LTD in males, but not females. Locomotor effects of amphetamine require astroglial CB1R in males, but not in females.

On the invasiveness of the electro-optical research method in strong inhomogeneous electric and light fields

open access: yesPhysical Sciences and Technology, 2023
Optical research methods are usually considered non-invasive, that is, they do not affect the object of study. However, under certain conditions, this is not the case.

Impacts of fire on canopy structure and its resilience depend on successional stage in Amazonian secondary forests

open access: yesRemote Sensing in Ecology and Conservation, EarlyView.
We analyzed the effects of fire on secondary forests' vertical structure in different successional stages using lidar metrics. Our results show that independently of the successional stage, secondary forests that experienced fire were more degraded than unburned secondary forest areas. Overall, our results show that forests in early successional stage (

Exploring Morphology of Thermoplasmonic Nanoparticles to Synergize Immunotherapeutic Fibroblast Activation Protein‐Positive Cell Sensitization and Photothermal Therapy

open access: yesSmall Science, EarlyView.
Schematic of spherical and branched gold nanoparticle‐based nanocarriers conjugated with targeting modules (TMs), previously designed for chimeric antigen receptor T‐cell (CAR T‐cell) recognition of fibroblast activation protein (FAP). By combining immunotherapeutic TMs with thermoplasmonic AuNPs, these nanoconjugates selectively sensitize FAP ...
