Photochemical Surface Degradation in Spiropyran Based Films
Monitoring of photoswitching surface properties using molecular photochromes can give misleading results due to primary inner filter effects. The surface layer can degrade but then protect deeper layers from damage, leading to misassignment of the origin of light driven changes in surface energy.

Food Waste to Wellness: A Grape Pomace Blend in Gastric Cancer Prevention
Grape pomace was used to set up a phytocomplex studied for gastric cancer prevention. HPLC/MS analyses revealed that this mixture is a source of many polyphenols and amino acids. This novel nutraceutical (GPE) selectively targets cancer cells, sparing healthy ones. Molecular mechanisms confirmed that GPE acts, inducing apoptosis and autophagy.
