s‐Orbital Mediated Metavalent Bonding Enables State‐Of‐The‐Art n‐Type AgBiSe2 Thermoelectrics
Metavalent bonding (MVB) underpins the exceptional property portfolio of chalcogenides. Typical MVB solids are mainly found in p‐bonded systems. This work reveals that MVB can also be formed with s‐p orbital interactions upon forming a single‐electron σ‐bond, as exemplified in AgBiSe2.

A Note on Applications of Stochastic Ordering to Control Problems in Insurance and Finance
We consider a controlled diffusion process $(X_t)_{t\ge 0}$ where the controller is allowed to choose the drift $\mu_t$ and the volatility $\sigma_t$ from a set $\K(x) \subset \R\times (0,\infty)$ when $X_t=x$.

Optimal Dividend Payment in De Finetti Models: Survey and New Results and Strategies
We consider optimal dividend payment under the constraint that the with-dividend ruin probability does not exceed a given value α. This is done in most simple discrete De Finetti models.

The probabilities of absolute ruin in the renewal risk model with constant force of interest [PDF]
In this paper we consider the probabilities of finite- And infinite-time absolute ruins in the renewal risk model with constant premium rate and constant force of interest.

Atomic Layer Deposition in Transistors and Monolithic 3D Integration
Transistors are fundamental building blocks of modern electronics. This review summarizes recent progress in atomic layer deposition (ALD) for the synthesis of two‐dimensional (2D) metal oxides and transition‐metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs), with particular emphasis on their enabling role in monolithic three‐dimensional (M3D) integration for next ...

In the present note we consider the classical continuous time model of the collective theory of risk under the assumption that the claimsize distribution is DFR (decreasing failure rate) so that, according to well known queueing results, the ultimate ...

Power estimates for ruin probabilities [PDF]
Let X1, X2,… be real-valued random variables. For u>0, define the time of ruin T = T(u) by T = inf{n: X1+⋯+Xn>u} or T=∞ if X1+⋯+Xn≤u for every n = 1,2,…. We are interested in the ruin probabilities of general processes {Xn} for large u. In the presence of heavy tails, one often finds power estimates.

On the Markov-modulated insurance risk model with tax [PDF]
In this paper, we consider the Markov-modulated insurance risk model with tax. We assume that the claim inter-arrivals, claim sizes and premium process are influenced by an external Markovian environment process.

Over half of cancer patients undergo radiotherapy. Laser ablation enabled the synthesis of immiscible Au‐Fe‐B nanoparticles designed as degradable bimodal radiosensitizers for X‐ray radiotherapy (XRT), boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT), and bimodal imaging for X‐ray computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). These nanosensitizers
