Ruled real hypersurfaces in the complex hyperbolic quadric

open access: yesDemonstratio Mathematica, 2023
In this article, we introduce a new family of real hypersurfaces in the complex hyperbolic quadric Qn∗=SO2,no∕SO2SOn{{Q}^{n}}^{\ast }=S{O}_{2,n}^{o}/S{O}_{2}S{O}_{n}, namely, the ruled real hypersurfaces foliated by complex hypersurfaces.

Ruled Real Hypersurfaces in the Indefinite Complex Projective Space

open access: yesResults in Mathematics, 2022
The main two families of real hypersurfaces in complex space forms are Hopf and ruled. However, very little is known about real hypersurfaces in the indefinite complex projective space $\cpn$. In a previous work, Kimura and the second author introduced Hopf real hypersurfaces in $\cpn$.

Transversal Jacobi Operators in Almost Contact Manifolds

open access: yesMathematics, 2020
Along a transversal geodesic γ whose tangent belongs to the contact distribution D, we define the transversal Jacobi operator Rγ=R(·,γ˙)γ˙ on an almost contact Riemannian manifold M.

A Characterization of Ruled Real Hypersurfaces in Non-Flat Complex Space Forms [PDF]

open access: yesMathematics, 2020
The Levi-Civita connection and the k-th generalized Tanaka-Webster connection are defined on a real hypersurface M in a non-flat complex space form. For any nonnull constant k and any vector field X tangent to M the k-th Cho operator F X ( k ) is defined and is related to both connections. If X belongs to the maximal holomorphic distribution

New characterizations of ruled real hypersurfaces in complex projective space

open access: yesPeriodica Mathematica Hungarica, 2023
AbstractWe consider real hypersurfacesMin complex projective space equipped with both the Levi–Civita and generalized Tanaka–Webster connections. For any nonnull constantkand any symmetric tensor field of type (1, 1)LonM, we can define two tensor fields of type (1, 2) onM,$$L_F^{(k)}$$LF(k)and$$L_T^{(k)}$$LT(k), related to both connections.

Generating Curves of Minimal Ruled Real Hypersurfaces in a Nonflat Complex Space Form [PDF]

open access: yesCanadian Mathematical Bulletin, 2019
AbstractWe first provide a necessary and sufficient condition for a ruled real hypersurface in a nonflat complex space form to have constant mean curvature in terms of integral curves of the characteristic vector field on it. This yields a characterization of minimal ruled real hypersurfaces by circles.

Ruled real hypersurfaces of complex space forms

open access: yesKodai Mathematical Journal, 2010
Real hypersurfaces in non-flat complex space forms with integrable holomorphic distribution and symmetric φ-Ricci tensor which are φ-Einstein are ruled real hypersurfaces.

Twistor representation of null two-surfaces [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
We present a twistor description for null two-surfaces (null strings) in 4D Minkowski space-time. The Lagrangian density for a variational principle is taken as a surface-forming null bivector.

Is "the theory of everything'' merely the ultimate ensemble theory? [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
We discuss some physical consequences of what might be called ``the ultimate ensemble theory'', where not only worlds corresponding to say different sets of initial data or different physical constants are considered equally real, but also worlds ruled ...
