Approximation of Dirac operators with δ‐shell potentials in the norm resolvent sense, II: Quantitative results

open access: yesMathematische Nachrichten, Volume 299, Issue 4, Page 704-763, April 2026.
Abstract This paper is devoted to the approximation of two‐ and three‐dimensional Dirac operators HV∼δΣ$H_{\widetilde{V} \delta _\Sigma }$ with combinations of electrostatic and Lorentz scalar δ$\delta$‐shell interactions in the norm resolvent sense. Relying on results from Behrndt, Holzmann, and Stelzer‐Landauer [Math. Nachr.

Hitchhiker's Guide to the Swampland: The Cosmologist's Handbook to the String‐Theoretical Swampland Programme

open access: yesFortschritte der Physik, Volume 74, Issue 4, April 2026.
Abstract String theory has strong implications for cosmology, implying the absence of a cosmological constant, ruling out single‐field slow‐roll inflation, and that black holes decay. The origins of these statements are elucidated within the string‐theoretical swampland programme.

Convergent normal form for real hypersurfaces at generic Levi degeneracy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We construct a complete convergent normal form for a real hypersurface in $\CC{N},\,N\geq 2$ at generic Levi degeneracy. This seems to be the first convergent normal form for a Levi-degenerate hypersurface.

Tessellation Groups, Harmonic Analysis on Non‐Compact Symmetric Spaces and the Heat Kernel in View of Cartan Convolutional Neural networks

open access: yesFortschritte der Physik, Volume 74, Issue 4, April 2026.
ABSTRACT In this paper, we continue the development of the Cartan neural networks programme, launched with three previous publications, by focusing on some mathematical foundational aspects that we deem necessary for our next steps forward. The mathematical and conceptual results are diverse and span various mathematical fields, but the inspiring ...

Graph potentials and topological quantum field theories

open access: yesProceedings of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 132, Issue 4, April 2026.
Abstract We introduce a new functional equation in birational geometry, whose solutions can be used to construct two‐dimensional topological quantum field theories (2d TQFTs), infinite‐dimensional in many interesting examples. The solutions of the equation give rise to a hierarchy of graph potentials, which, in the simplest setup, are Laurent ...

Programmable Dimensional Lithography with Digital Micromirror Devices for Multifunctional Microarchitectures

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, Volume 11, Issue 5, 6 March 2026.
This review explores recent advances in digital micromirror device (DMD)‐based lithography, focusing on its programmable light modulation, multi‐material compatibility, and dimensional patterning strategies. It highlights innovations from optical system design to materials integration and multifunctional applications, positioning DMD lithography as a ...

Dispersion‐Less Dissipative Soliton Fiber Laser

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, Volume 20, Issue 6, 18 March 2026.
A dispersion‐less fiber laser architecture generates high‐energy, pedestal‐free picosecond pulses without resorting to conventional pulse stretching. This energy‐managed laser achieves remarkable flexibility in pulse parameters, delivering up to 0.54 μJ$\mathrm{\mu}\mathrm{J}$ pulses with minimal spectral distortion using standard telecom components ...

Vector bundles on bielliptic surfaces: Ulrich bundles and degree of irrationality

open access: yesMathematische Nachrichten, Volume 299, Issue 3, Page 514-528, March 2026.
Abstract This paper deals with two problems about vector bundles on bielliptic surfaces. The first is to give a classification of Ulrich bundles on such surfaces S$S$, which depends on the topological type of S$S$. In doing so, we study the weak Brill–Noether property for moduli spaces of sheaves with isotropic Mukai vector. Adapting an idea of Moretti

A Re‐Examination of Foundational Elements of Cosmology

open access: yesFortschritte der Physik, Volume 74, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT This paper undertakes a conceptual re‐examination of several foundational elements of cosmology through the lens of spacetime symmetries. A new derivation of the Friedmann–Lemaître–Robertson–Walker metric is obtained by a careful conceptual examination of rotations and translations on generic manifolds, followed by solving the rotational and ...

Osculating geometry and higher‐order distance Loci

open access: yesJournal of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 113, Issue 3, March 2026.
Abstract We discuss the problem of optimizing the distance function from a given point, subject to polynomial constraints. A key algebraic invariant that governs its complexity is the Euclidean distance degree, which pertains to first‐order tangency. We focus on the data locus of points possessing at least one critical point of the distance function ...
