Run-Time Profiling of Functional Logic Programs

2005
In this work, we introduce a profiling scheme for modern functional logic languages covering notions like laziness, sharing, and non-determinism. Firstly, we instrument a natural (big-step) semantics in order to associate a symbolic cost to each basic operation (e.g., variable updates, function unfoldings, case evaluations).

Profiling apache HIVE query from run time logs

2016 International Conference on Big Data and Smart Computing (BigComp), 2016
Apache Hive is a widely used data warehousing and analysis tool. Developers write SQL like HIVE queries, which are converted into MapReduce programs to runs on a cluster. Despite its popularity, there is little research on performance comparison and diagnose.

Averaged EMG profiles in jogging and running at different speeds

Gait & Posture, 2007
EMGs were collected from 14 muscles with surface electrodes in 10 subjects walking 1.25-2.25 ms(-1) and running 1.25-4.5 ms(-1). The EMGs were rectified, interpolated in 100% of the stride, and averaged over all subjects to give an average profile. In running, these profiles could be decomposed into 10 basic patterns, 8 of which represented only a ...

Estrogen Receptor Chromatin Profiling by CUT&RUN

Gonadal steroid hormones, namely, testosterone, progesterone, and estrogens, influence the physiological state of an organism through the regulation of gene transcription. Steroid hormones activate nuclear hormone receptor (HR), transcription factors (TFs), which bind DNA in a tissue- and cell type-specific manner to influence cellular function ...

Chromatin Profiling in Mouse Embryonic Germ Cells by CUT&RUN

2020
Cleavage under targets and release using nuclease (CUT&RUN) allows the chromatin profiling of proteins of interest for which specific antibodies are available. Because it is performed on intact chromatin in situ, CUT&RUN provides exceptional signal over background, making it an ideal choice for chromatin profiling on primary cells available at limited ...

A Run-to-Run Profile Control Algorithm for Improving the Flatness of Nano-Scale Products

IEEE Transactions on Automation Science and Engineering, 2015
In scaling-up Carbon Nanotubes (CNTs) array manufacturing, the uniformity of CNTs' height, or flatness of array, is critical for the yield of nanodevices fabricated from CNTs, and thus needs to be properly controlled. However, since the flatness of the CNTs array is better characterized by a profile, the conventional run-to-run (R2R) controllers that ...

Ground reaction force profiles during inclined running at iso-efficiency speeds

Journal of Biomechanics, 2020
While running provides an accessible form of cardiovascular stimulus, many runners report lower extremity musculoskeletal injuries. Additionally, runners who develop overuse injuries, such as tibial stress fractures, also have higher loading rates (LR) and impact forces. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to investigate how uphill treadmill ...

An EDF run-time profile based on ravenscar

ACM SIGAda Ada Letters, 2013
This paper presents a definition of a Ravenscar-like profile (EDF Ravenscar) that incorporates EDF scheduling. Rather than just replace the dispatching policy, an argument is made for simplifying the support that is provided in full Ada for controlling access to protected objects.

A profiling tool for apache hive run-time query

2017 International Conference on Computing Methodologies and Communication (ICCMC), 2017
Apache Hive is a tool used conventionally for data warehousing and analysis. Although it is widely used, there is very less research on performance comparison and analysis. One of the reasons is, the techniques applied to supervise execution cannot be implemented to intermediate MapReduce code developed from Hive query.

Quantification of run order effect on chromatography - mass spectrometry profiling data

Journal of Chromatography A, 2018
Chromatographic systems coupled with mass spectrometry detection are widely used in biological studies investigating how levels of biomolecules respond to different internal and external stimuli. Such changes are normally expected to be of low magnitude and therefore all experimental factors that can influence the analysis need to be understood and ...
