Determination of extreme train running parameters along a railway line segment [PDF]

open access: yesTransport, 2006
It is possible to select train-car draft mass and traction vehicle parameters for technical speed along segment in such a way that unitary total energy consumption related to train-car mass would be the lowest.

Optimal running time supplement for the energy‐efficient train control considering the section running time constraint

open access: yesIET Intelligent Transport Systems, 2022
The energy consumption and operation efficiency of congested rail networks is a primary concern of railway operators. Although achieving the optimal running time supplement helps to reduce the energy consumption of trains, the section running time is ...

Peak calling by Sparse Enrichment Analysis for CUT&RUN chromatin profiling [PDF]

open access: yesEpigenetics & Chromatin, 2019
CUT&RUN is an efficient epigenome profiling method that identifies sites of DNA binding protein enrichment genome-wide with high signal to noise and low sequencing requirements. Currently, the analysis of CUT&RUN data is complicated by its exceptionally low background, which renders programs designed for analysis of ChIP-seq data vulnerable to ...

Biased Wear Control of Straddle-type Monorail Vehicle Running Tires Based on Running Surface Profile Optimization

open access: yesChengshi guidao jiaotong yanjiu
[Objective] Controlling the biased wear of running tires is a critical technical challenge for SMT (straddle-type monorail transit) vehicles. It is necessary to study the control of biased tire wear when a SMT vehicle passes through curved segments of ...

A simple method for computing sprint acceleration kinetics from running velocity data: Replication study with improved design.

open access: yesJournal of Biomechanics, 2019
Measuring the ground reaction forces (GRF) underlying sprint acceleration is important to understanding the performance of such a common task. Until recently direct measurements of GRF during sprinting were limited to a few steps per trial, but a simple ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.
