AbstractWe introduce an idealised model for overland flow generated by rain falling on a hillslope. Our prime motivation is to show how the coalescence of runoff streams promotes the total generation of runoff. We show that, for our model, as the rate of rainfall increases in relation to the soil infiltration rate there is a distinct phase change.

A soil-based approach to rainfall-runoff modelling in ungauged catchments for England and Wales [PDF]
Hydrological models are powerful tools for the investigation of many hydrological issues. The historical approach for the development of rainfall-runoff models, with regard to the choice of model structure and the calibration of the free parameters ...

Development of a rainfall-runoff-soil erosion model for railway embankment steep slopes
Railway embankments in Queensland are experiencing increased maintenance costs due to rainfall-induced erosion and sedimentation problems. The erosion problem can be reduced through establishing grass cover on embankment and cutting slopes. Therefore, it

Optimising soil disturbance and mulch attenuation for erosion and runoff control in asparagus crops [PDF]
Exposure of bare soil for long periods and onsite compaction create soil and water problems in asparagus production. This project aims to develop a cost effective and practical runoff and soil erosion management system.
