ABSTRACT Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells are the leading host for recombinant therapeutic protein production in the biopharma industry. In this study, we investigated how feeding acidic forms of tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle intermediates—malic acid, succinic acid, and α‐ketoglutaric acid—affects cell culture performance and metabolism in two ...

Microbial Hydrolysates as Amino Acid Source in Cell Culture Media for Cellular Agriculture
ABSTRACT The high cost of cultivation media remains one of the barriers to the commercialization of cultivated meat. Current serum‐free media reduce reliance on fetal bovine serum but only achieve modest cost savings. Especially at larger scales (> 20 m3), pharmaceutical‐grade amino acids and recombinant proteins remain major cost drivers.

Nitric oxide generation from nitrate at the cobalt center
Deoxygenation of a cobalt(II) nitrate complex with CO(g) or PPh3 yields a Co(NO)(NO2) species, which can alternatively be generated from a cobalt mononitrosyl complex, featuring a distinct {CoNO}8 core. Abstract Herein, we report the synthesis and reactivity of the cobalt(II) nitrate complex, (acriPNP)Co(NO3) (2).

ABSTRACT The rapid global expansion of photovoltaic (PV) solar facilities, now comprising nearly 80% of the recent and projected growth of renewable electricity, represents one of the most significant land‐use changes of the 21st century. While PV facilities are critical for decarbonising energy systems, their large spatial footprint and infrastructure

Issue Construals and Corporate Water Stewardship
ABSTRACT In the face of mounting environmental and social pressures, the importance of responsible corporate water stewardship (CWS) should be evident, yet not all businesses are taking water management issues seriously. The aim of this study is to explore why differences in CWS persist, especially within industries facing similar resource challenges ...

Biodiversity Strategies in Action—Empirical Evidence From the Food Value Chain
ABSTRACT There is an increasing need for better understanding of firm activities that contribute to biodiversity preservation. Panwar, Ober, and Pinkse offer a valuable typology of corporate biodiversity protection strategies based on temporal and spatial dimensions, namely, the preloss (proactive) strategies of conservation and compensation, and the ...

ABSTRACT Biodiversity underpins ecosystem functioning and the provision of ecosystem services, yet it continues to decline due to intensive agriculture, pollution, habitat loss and climate change. Although ecolabels are increasingly used to communicate sustainability attributes and influence consumer choices, their role in addressing biodiversity ...
