Uncommon case of abdominal pregnancy with spontaneous uterine rupture at 35 weeks

open access: yesPAMJ Clinical Medicine, 2019
Abdominal pregnancy is a rare form of ectopic pregnancy and is frequently misdiagnosed. Here, we report a case of abdominal pregnancy with spontaneous uterine rupture of the cesarean-section scar at 35 weeks.

Qualitative Analysis of Rupture Solutions for an MEMS Problem [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2013
We prove a sharp H\"older continuity estimates of rupture sets for sequences of solutions of the following nonlinear problem with negative exponent $$ \Delta u= \frac{1}{u^p}, \ p>1, \ \mbox{in} \ \Omega .$$ As a consequence, we prove the existence of rupture solutions with isolated ruptures in a bounded convex domain in $\R^2$.

The 2007 Azores earthquakes: A case of triggering? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
On 5 April (Mw=6.3) and 7 April 2007 (Mw=6.1 ) two earthquakes occur at the Formigas Islets (Azores Islands), both with same epicenter and felt (I=V/VI MSK) in S. Miguel Island.

Surgical treatment of giant cardiac aneurysm with pseudoaneurysm in a colon carcinoma patient [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Left ventricular pseudoaneurysm is a rare and lethal condition associated with a high risk of rapid enlargement and rupture. It develops after transmural myocardial infarction (MI), cardiac surgery, trauma, or infection.

Heterotropic pregnancy: Rare occurrence of a 12- week ruptured right isthmo-cornual ectopic along with a viable intrauterine pregnancy

open access: yesJournal of Human Reproductive Sciences, 2012
Heterotropic pregnancy, although a rare condition, is associated with a greater frequency in assisted reproduction. It occurs in approximately 1 in 100 pregnancies conceived by in vitro fertilization (IVF) particularly when multiple embryos are ...

Observed Changes in the Lifetime and Amplitude of the Madden–Julian Oscillation Associated with Interannual ENSO Sea Surface Temperature Anomalies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The Madden-Julian Oscillation (MJO) is analysed using the reanalysis zonal wind and satellite outgoing longwave radiation-based indices of Wheeler and Hendon for the 1974-2005 period.

Efeito da umidificação, tratamento térmico e deformação sobre a decorticação da castanha de caju 'CCP-76' por meio de impacto único e direcionado Effect of moisture content, thermal treatment and deformation on decortication of cashew nuts 'CCP-76' by means of a guided single impact

Machine Learning Approach to Earthquake Rupture Dynamics [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
Simulating dynamic rupture propagation is challenging due to the uncertainties involved in the underlying physics of fault slip, stress conditions, and frictional properties of the fault. A trial and error approach is often used to determine the unknown parameters describing rupture, but running many simulations usually requires human review to ...
