Viral Infection‐Inspired Autonomous Detection of Fusion‐Competent Viruses for Screening and Environmental Surveillance

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Inspired by viral entry mechanisms, the FUSION assay enables autonomous detection of respiratory viruses via membrane fusion–triggered CRISPR‐Cas13a activation. VEACON selectively fuses with fusion‐competent viruses, triggering fluorescence within confined vesicles.

Cluster development in rural areas [PDF]

open access: yesEkonomika poljoprivrede, 2015
The interest in creating a base-line for development patterns of clusters and clusters' specific characteristics in rural areas is particularly imposed by certain problems, which manifest themselves in similar degrees and provide a generic pattern in different regions and countries, e.g.

Telomere‐to‐Telomere Genomes Reveal that Multiscale Evolution Shapes the Largest Metabolic Arsenal of Diaporthe Fungi

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents the first telomere‐to‐telomere genomes and population resources for Diaporthe pathogens, uncovering the largest known fungal repertoire of secondary metabolite gene clusters. Structural variations and horizontal gene transfer drive cluster diversification, while specific rapidly evolving clusters control virulence, offering novel ...

Strengthening the positive links between organic farming and a sustainable development of rural areas [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Organic farming can play a major role in the sustainable development of rural areas. Our assumption is that it supports the finding of a new balance between societal demands for high environmental quality, the pressures resulting from competition in a ...

An Increasing Misalignment Between Crop Distribution and Environmental Resources Under Climate Change in China

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Climate change reshapes the spatial alignment between crop production and environmental resources. Using multi‐source data and a crop model, integrated climatic, water, and soil endowments for maize and wheat are quantified and compared with harvest distributions.

Alternating High‐Fat and Polysaccharide Diets Modulates Gut Phage‐Bacterial Interplay

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals how alternating high‐fat and polysaccharide diets reshape the human gut virome and enhance phage‐bacteria interactions. Using large‐scale metagenomic meta‐analysis and a time‐resolved mouse model, the authors show that diets strongly modulate phage abundance, lifestyle, and gene exchange, offering new insights into nutrition‐guided ...
