A Mass Spectrometry Approach Reveals Fatty Acid Isomerism in Tomato Cold Tolerance
An enhanced mass spectrometry approach reveals fatty acids (FAs) and FA isomers that are critical for tomato cold tolerance. Applying specific FA isomers can partially rescue cold sensitivity in tomato mutant plants, highlighting the importance of FA isomers in plant cold stress adaptation.

The continental‐scale study reveals that soil phosphorus strongly predicts the richness of soil pathogenic oomycetes in Chinese grasslands, while precipitation and plant species richness drive their absolute abundance; modeling predicts ≈42% of grassland areas may face elevated oomycete disease risk under future climate scenarios, especially in typical

Migration and rural poverty in China [PDF]
We analyze two complementary household datasets from China's poor areas to examine whether the poor migrate and whether migration helps the poor. We find an inverted-U-shaped relationship between household endowments and the likelihood of migration. Over time, the poor are more likely to migrate.

This study develops a human engineered heart tissue‐derived model of diabetic cardiomyopathy that accurately replicates the dynamic changes in the structural, contractile, and electrophysiological properties of the myocardium. Furthermore, this model is used to confirm the direct protective effects of empagliflozin on the heart through an SGLT2 off ...

Researchers have identified a citrus chimera with distinctive tissue origins and carotenoid profiles. It is discovered that fruit tissues develop from all three cell layers but in different proportions. A key transcription factor, MYB107, regulates β‐cryptoxanthin production by directly activating carotenoid biosynthesis genes, explaining why some ...

Carbon dots (CDs) are incorporated into ZIF‐8 to synthesize CDs@ZIF‐8 nanocomposites, which exhibit dual photodynamic enhanced antimicrobial properties. This enhancement is due to the narrow bandgap of CDs@ZIF‐8, which facilitates interfacial electronic transfer, resulting in increased reactive oxygen species. Microfluidic blow spinning is then used to
