Combating cancer immunotherapy resistance: a nano‐medicine perspective

open access: yesCancer Communications, EarlyView.
Abstract Cancer immunotherapy offers renewed hope for treating this disease. However, cancer cells possess inherent mechanisms that enable them to circumvent each stage of the immune cycle, thereby evading anti‐cancer immunity and leading to resistance.

First‐line serplulimab plus chemotherapy in extensive‐stage small‐cell lung cancer: Updated results and biomarker analysis from the ASTRUM‐005 randomized clinical trial

open access: yesCancer Communications, EarlyView.
Abstract Background The ASTRUM‐005 study previously demonstrated a significant overall survival (OS) benefit with serplulimab (a programmed death 1 inhibitor) plus chemotherapy versus chemotherapy alone in previously untreated extensive‐stage small‐cell lung cancer (ES‐SCLC).

Serotonergic Modulators in Alzheimer's Disease: A Hope in the Hopeless Condition

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Alzheimer's disease (AD) is the main cause of dementia worldwide. AD is a progressive brain neurodegenerative disease due to genetic and environmental factors that induce a progressive accumulation of intracellular hyperphosphorylated tau protein and extracellular amyloid protein (Aβ).

Synthesis and Evaluation of Trehalose‐Based Mertansine Warheads for BCG Delivery of Anti‐Cancer Agents

open access: yesChemBioChem, Accepted Article.
Non‐muscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) accounts for 75% of bladder cancer cases, with Bacillus Calmette‐Guérin (BCG) immunotherapy as the gold standard for high‐risk patients. BCG elicits a robust immune response but is limited by adverse effects and resistance. To enhance its efficacy, we developed a trehalose‐based conjugation strategy, tethering

Ag/Ce1‐xMnxO2 Catalysts for Soot Oxidation in the Presence of NOx and NOx─CO: Role of Ce/Mn Molar Ratio

open access: yesChemCatChem, EarlyView.
Ag/CeO2, Ag/MnOx, and Ag/CeMnOx (at different Ce/Mn molar ratios) synthesized via citrate sol‐gel method were investigated in soot oxidation. The presence of NO in the reaction mixture inhibited soot oxidation. By adding CO to the NO + O2 reaction mixture no inhibition of soot combustion was observed, and NO was converted to N2 via SCR with CO before ...

ESI‐MS‐Visualization of Cyanoarene Photocatalysts by Specific Supramolecular Interaction with Br‐Anion

open access: yesChemistry–Methods, EarlyView.
This study develops a convenient approach to investigate cyanoarene photocatalysts with anion‐enhanced detection AED‐ESI‐HRMS through the signal‐amplified interaction with bromide anions. By combining supramolecular chemistry, DFT calculations, and mass spectrometry, we uncover a novel approach for tracking photocatalyst transformations and elucidating

Using the HClO4–H2O2 System for Efficient Platinum Leaching: Optimal Conditions and Kinetics

open access: yesChemPlusChem, EarlyView.
GA: The platinum leaching using HClO4 and H2O2 is studied. For each HClO4 concentration, an H2O2/HClO4 = 2.5 ratio optimizes the kinetics. The best operating conditions are ≈70 °C, [HClO4] 3 m, and [H2O2] 7.2 m. The leaching process is governed by diffusion in the boundary layer and chemical reaction. In this new extraction process, Cl2(g) is generated

Tethering Efficiency of Reversible Addition‐Fragmentation Chain Transfer‐Synthesized Styrene Maleic Acid Polymers and Associated Styrene Maleic Acid Lipid Nanoparticles on Gold Surfaces

open access: yesChemPlusChem, EarlyView.
Styrene maleic acid lipid nanoparticles (SMALPs) comprised of diblock styrene maleic acid (SMA) copolymers readily tether to gold surfaces. This binding is enhanced when the diblock SMA is functionalized with a trithiocarbonate and hydrophilic (Z)‐end‐group generated through the reversible addition‐fragmentation chain transfer polymerization process ...
