Three‐Stage Heat Transfer Pathways in the Latent Heat Thermal Energy Storage System With Solid–Liquid Phase‐Change Materials

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
According to the theoretical basis of heat transfer processes in SLPCM‐LHTES, a three‐stage heat transfer pathway has been proposed and summarized in this review, including external heating, interfacial heat transfer, and intrinsic phase transition. ABSTRACT The latent heat thermal energy storage system with solid–liquid phase‐change material (SLPCM ...

Cholesterol‐Lowering and Radical Scavenging Potential of Fermented Black Kale (Brassica oleracea var. acephala): From Pilot‐Scale Production to in Vivo Study

open access: yesChemFoodChem, EarlyView.
Abstract Vegetables are rich in bioactive compounds, including fibers and minerals, providing a conspicuous contribution to achieving health benefits. In this study, black kale (Brassica oleracea var. acephala, BK) was fermented using Saccharomyces cerevisiae LI180‐7 strain at pilot scale, producing a safe and consumable product featured by improved ...

Local sensitivity analysis of a supercritical extraction model

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Abstract This study investigates the process of chamomile oil extraction from chamomile flowers. A parameter‐distributed model, consisting of a set of partial differential equations, was used to describe the governing mass transfer phenomena between solid and fluid phases under supercritical conditions using carbon dioxide as the solvent.
