A Termite‐Inspired Alternative to Cement
A termite‐inspired composite of clay, cellulose, and lignin forms a dense fibrous network with concrete‐like strength (32 MPa) and superior elasticity, processed at ambient temperature. Abstract Clay combined with organic materials is used by termites as a strong and durable construction material for their mounds with minimal environmental impact. Here,

An efficient NiOx HTL is successfully prepared by introducing MXene as an additive without further surface modification to fabricate high‐performance FASn0.5Pb0.5I3 perovskite solar cells. The introduction of MXene contributes to improved conductivity of NiOx, better aligned at NiOx/perovskite interfaces, and enhanced quality of perovskite films ...

TOPICAL REVIEW: Corrosion resistance of Si–Al-bearing ultrafine-grained weathering steel
In the Ultra-steel project at the National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS), which run from 1996 to 2005, high-Si–Al-content ultrafine-grained (UFG) weathering steel was developed by grain refinement and weathering guidance.

Pullulan, a biomass‐derived polysaccharide, is transformed into transparent optical fibers using a solvent‐free borax hydrogel‐spinning method. The fibers outperform PMMA with ≈200 MPa tensile strength and 200 °C stability, while uniquely guiding visible‐to‐NIR light and enabling additive‐free humidity sensing.

Resistance to common bunt (Tilletia tritici) and rust (Puccinia sp.) in hulled wheat [PDF]
Common bunt (Tilletia tritici) and rust diseases (Puccinia sp.) was scored in 123 varieties of wheat species other than bread wheat. The species included Triticum spelta (90 lines), T.macha (18 lines), T.dicoccon (6 lines), T.timopheevii (3 lines) and ...

Structural Porosity and Low Mineral Density in Enamel Rods Drive Molar Incisor Hypomineralisation
This study uses advanced imaging modalities on multiple length scales to show that molar‐incisor hypomineralization does not present as a locally homogeneous pathology. Instead, microstructural defects, characterized through non‐mineralized, protein‐rich sheaths and an altered mineral structure in between prism rods, resulting in local differences in ...
