Two new records for the flora of Paraguay: Stemodia diplohyptoides and S. lobelioides (Plantaginaceae:Gratioleae)

open access: yesNordic Journal of Botany, Volume 2026, Issue 3, March 2026.
Stemodia diplohyptoides M.M.Sosa & Dematt. and S. lobelioides Lehm. (Gratioleae, Plantaginaceae) are reported for the first time in Paraguay, found in Alto Paraná and Presidente Hayes departments, respectively. These new records extend the known geographical range of both species, representing the northern records to date, S.

The Immigration Policy Puzzle [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper revisits the puzzle of immigration policy: standard economic theory predicts that free immigration improves natives' welfare, but (with few historical exceptions) an open door policy is never implemented in practice.

Genome‐wide association study identifies consistent genomic loci for yield and nutritional quality in Ethiopian sorghum landraces

open access: yesThe Plant Genome, Volume 19, Issue 1, March 2026.
Abstract Identifying genomic regions linked to yield and quality is crucial for sorghum (Sorghum bicolor L.) improvement, but limited studies on its genome and diversity hinder breeding efforts. This study aimed to identify phenotypic variance and common quantitative trait nucleotides (QTNs) associated with genomic regions linked with grain yield and ...

Non‐uniform interval‐pulse X‐ray photon correlation spectroscopy for reduced exposure

open access: yesJournal of Synchrotron Radiation, Volume 33, Issue 2, Page 382-389, March 2026.
In this work, non‐uniform interval‐pulse X‐ray photon correlation spectroscopy enabled the measurement of dynamics efficiently while reducing X‐ray exposure by two orders of magnitude. This approach facilitates dense delay‐time sampling and minimizes radiation damage, offering a powerful tool for studying sensitive systems.X‐ray photon correlation ...
