Adsorption of Water Vapour on Rutile and Silica-Coated Rutile

open access: yesAdsorption Science & Technology, 1986
Adsorption isotherms of water vapour have been determined at 25°C on pure rutile (surface area 22 m 2 .g −1 ) and on two samples of the rutile coated with different amounts of dense silica (0·6 & 2·6 wt% SiO 2

Coupled Zircon-Rutile U-Pb Chronology: LA ICP-MS Dating, Geological Significance and Applications to Sediment Provenance in the Eastern Himalayan-Indo-Burman Region

open access: yesGeosciences, 2019
U-Pb dating by LA ICP-MS is one of the most popular and successful isotopic techniques available to the Earth Sciences to constrain timing and rates of geological processes thanks to its high spatial resolution, good precision (absolute U/Pb age ...

Reversible formation-dissociation of polaron in rutile driven by electric field

open access: yesMaterials Research Letters, 2018
Density functional theory with Hubbard U correction is employed to study the polaron in rutile under external electric fields. It is found that electric-field-induced displacements of the ions enhance the sampling of the polaron configurations, which is ...

Timing of late Palaeoproterozoic metamorphism in the northern Belomorian Belt, White Sea region: Conclusions from U-Pb isotopic data and P-T evidence [PDF]

open access: yesBulletin of the Geological Society of Finland, 2001
Brilliant-looking zircon crystals from a garnet-amphibolitic, metamorphosed mafic dyke at Lyagkomina in the Lake Kovdozero area, northern Belomorian Belt, most probably mark the 1875±4 Ma age of peak late Palaeoproterozoic regional metamorphism which ...

Structural, morphological and photocatalytic properties of TiO2 obtained by thermolytic decomposition of the [Ti(OH2)6]3+•3Cl¯ aquacomplex

open access: yesФізика і хімія твердого тіла, 2022
Thermolytic decomposition in a chloride-acid medium of a titanium aquacomplex precursor solution [Ti(OH2)6]3+•3Cl¯ as a result of its boiling at a temperature of (110-114) 0С is accompanied by precursor hydrolysis and the formation of hydrate molecules ...

Recycling of NiTi Shape Memory Alloys: Fundamental and Technological Aspects of a Vacuum Induction Melting Processing Route

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The present study investigates recycling of NiTi shape memory alloys via vacuum induction melting. An ingot was synthesized from elemental Ni and Ti and subjected to three subsequent remelting cycles. Remelting increases process durations and impurity levels and adversely affects microstructures and functional properties.

Photocatalytic degradation of alachlor by TiO2 nanoparticles from aqueous solutions under UV radiation

open access: yesJournal of Experimental Nanoscience, 2019
This study aimed to synthesise TiO2 nanoparticles (NPs) in pure rutile structure at moderate temperature without calcination and use them as the catalyst for alachlor removal under UV-C radiation.

Titanium Suboxides Responsible for Electronic Anomaly Near Room Temperature in the Ti3C2Tx MXene

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Our multi‐technique study reveals that the near‐room‐temperature anomaly in Ti3C2Tx MXene is linked to titanium suboxide nanodomains, including Ti3O5, embedded within the MXene host. Their temperature‐driven transformation provides an alternative explanation to solvent‐ and swelling‐based models and offers new insight into the thermally activated ...
