THE EFFECT OF SBR LATEX AND WARM MIX AGENT ON THE PERFORMANCE OF DRY AND WET ASPHALT MIXTURES

open access: yesMağallaẗ Al-kūfaẗ Al-handasiyyaẗ
Moisture damage has been identified as one of the most common causes of distress in asphalt mixes. The attachment between bitumen aggregate components deteriorates when water interacts at the interface, causing the binder to be stripped from the exterior

Road Rutting Measurement Using Mobile LiDAR Systems Point Cloud

open access: yesISPRS International Journal of Geo-Information, 2019
Road rutting caused by vehicle loading in the wheel path is a major form of asphalt pavement distress. Hydroplaning and loss of skid resistance are directly related to high road rutting severity.

A systematic review and meta‐analysis examining the impact of placement instability on the mental health outcomes of care experienced children and young people

open access: yesJCPP Advances, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Care experienced children and young people (CECYP) are at risk of mental health difficulties. This review aimed to examine the impact of placement instability on the mental health outcomes of CECYP and to explore how placement instability is measured. Methods This review was conducted following the PRISMA guidance.

Children's psychological traits and educational performance: How schools and residential areas moderate how individual traits translate into academic outcomes

open access: yesJCPP Advances, EarlyView.
Abstract Background The extent to which children's psychological traits influence their educational performance is thought to depend on the fit between the individual and their developmental context. However, this assumption has yet to be empirically tested on a population scale.

Calculating rutting of some thin flexible pavements from repeated load triaxial test data [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
This paper describes parts of a Nordic pavement performance prediction model study (at the project level of the NordFoU project) where a material performance model, developed at VTT research centre in Finland, has been selected as a mean of calculating ...

Psychometric considerations of Adverse Childhood Experiences Questionnaire: Structure, validity, and the development of a supplementary instrument

open access: yesJournal of Traumatic Stress, EarlyView.
Abstract Adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) are linked to numerous negative physical and mental health outcomes. The current study addressed theoretical, conceptual, and measurement problems by evaluating a novel extension to the seminal ACEs questionnaire (ACEs‐Q).

Investigating Fatigue Performance on the Foamed Asphalt Specimens Generated Using Different Foam Properties [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
An evaluation of fatigue resistance for foamed asphalt mixture is very demanding since the binder is not continuously distributed on the aggregate surface and this mixtures contains water, the content of which dramatically affects the mechanical ...

Density‐dependent habitat selection in plains bison

open access: yesThe Journal of Wildlife Management, EarlyView.
Using GPS collar data, we tested whether habitat selection of plains bison in Grasslands National Park, Canada, was density dependent. Bison selected for areas of high vegetation productivity far from human activity when population density was low and increased use of lower productivity habitat closer to disturbance as density increased.
