Superatomic Rydberg State Excitation
SSRN Electronic Journal, 2021Superatomic molecular orbitals (SAMOs) have symmetries (angular quantum numbers) similar to those of atoms, and thus, it is possible to realize Rydberg state excitations (RSEs) in superatomic molecules. In this Letter, the feasibility of superatomic Rydberg state excitation (SRSE) is explored using gold superatoms based on first-principles calculations.

Circular Rydberg-state spectroscopy
Physical Review A, 1986We report the first observation of a resonance induced by a submillimeter wave between circular atomic Rydberg states of maximum angular momentum ($n=25$, ${m}_{l}=24\ensuremath{\rightarrow}n=24$, ${m}_{l}=23$ transition in lithium). This experiment is the first step towards a possible measurement of the Rydberg constant directly in frequency units ...

The triplet {ital nf} Rydberg states of HD with {ital n}=9--17, {ital L}=3, {ital v}=1, and {ital R}=1,3 have been observed and identified with the laser--molecular-beam method. A 20-eV electron beam excites a collimated HD beam to the metastable 2{ital p} {sup 3}{Pi} state.
