Link between Crustal Magnetization and Earthquakes in Taiwan
The active Taiwan orogen is located between the Ryukyu subduction zone in the northeast and the Manila subduction zone in the south. Intensive collision from the northwestward motion of the Luzon Arc has induced enormous earthquakes in and around Taiwan.

Regional-scale input of dispersed and discrete volcanic ash to the Izu-Bonin and Mariana subduction zones [PDF]
We have geochemically and statistically characterized bulk marine sediment and ash layers at Ocean Drilling Program Site 1149 (Izu-Bonin Arc) and Deep Sea Drilling Project Site 52 (Mariana Arc), and have quantified that multiple dispersed ash sources ...

The widespread Indo‐West Pacific ghost crab, Ocypode ceratophthalmus (Pallas, 1772) is found to be a species‐complex containing three distinct species. An Indian Ocean form, O. celadon sp. nov. occurs along the shores of East Africa, thence becoming an insular species spreading eastwards as far as Christmas Island.

Moho Fold Structure Beneath the East China Sea and Its Tectonic Implications
Moho fold structures provide critical insights into the tectonic evolution of the East China Sea. However, previous models exhibit substantial uncertainties, primarily resulting from the unaccounted gravitational effects of crustal sources and ...

Active normal faults and submarine landslides in the Keelung Shelf off NE Taiwan
The westernmost Okinawa Trough back-arc basin is located to the north of the Ryukyu islands and is situated above the northward dipping Ryukyu subducted slab.

Seismic Lg-wave attenuation tomography: Method, algorithm, data processing flow and application
With the rapid development of modern seismic network, seismological signals can be digitally recorded in broad frequency band, larger dynamic range, and higher spatial density, which provide the possibility of obtaining fine structures of the quality ...

A Possible Tsunamigenic Near‐Trench Strike‐Slip Fault, Offshore North Ecuador–South Colombia
Abstract Seismic reflection and bathymetry collected along the Ecuador–Colombia obliquely convergent margin allow the first characterization of the NNE‐trending, near‐trench strike‐slip Ancon Fault in the possible source region of the 1906‐Mw8.6–8.8 and 1979‐Mw8.2 earthquakes, which produced devastating tsunamis.

Melt Architecture Under East Asian Volcanoes Revealed by Anisotropic Tomography
Abstract Cenozoic volcanic rocks in East Asia are widespread across subduction zones, oceanic plates, and continental interiors. The generation of these volcanic materials is closely associated with partial melting of the upper mantle and the stagnation of the Pacific slab in the mantle transition zone.

Abstract Using dense seismic data sets, we present a new 3D velocity model of Taiwan that images a prominent mid‐crustal (∼20–30 km) high‐velocity body beneath west‐central Taiwan. The inclusion of high‐quality post‐2012 recordings from the Central Weather Administration Seismic Network (CWASN) ensures the elimination of uncorrectable timing errors. In
