Exploring the Gravimetric and Geochronological Links in Ancient Terranes of the São Francisco Craton and Borborema Province, NE‐Brazil

open access: yesTerra Nova, EarlyView.
Deep crustal fragments and structural lineaments identified through satellite gravity data provide evidence for the extension of the reworked ancient basement of the Central African Block into the northern São Francisco Craton and southern Borborema ...

Transamazonian Orogeny in the Southern São Francisco Craton Region, Minas Gerais, Brazil: evidence for Paleoproterozoic collision and collapse in the Quadrilátero Ferrífero

Precambrian Research, 1998
Abstract The Paleoproterozoic Transamazonian orogeny yielded a series of discrete orogens in Brazil. The present field study in the Quadrilatero Ferrifero (QF) indicates that the southern Sao Francisco craton region of the Brazilian highlands preserves a portion of one of these orogens. Two sets of Transamazonian structures occur in this region.

A review of 3.66 to 2.77 Ga crustal differentiation in the northern São Francisco Craton, Brazil

Soviet Economy, 2022
The Archaean crustal evolution of the northern São Francisco Craton (SFC) reveals significant similarity with Kaapvaal-Zimbabwe and Pilbara, cratons, especially before 3.0 Ga. Likewise, compiled geochronological and Nd-Sr-Hf isotope data suggest that the

Tracing Archean Crustal Growth and Paleoproterozoic Reworking in the Divinópolis Complex, Southern São Francisco Craton

Journal of the Geological Society
Understanding Earth's Archean crust and mantle is fundamental to reconstructing terrestrial geodynamic evolution. However, these ancient rocks have undergone extensive metamorphic and metasomatic events that may overprint primary lithological and ...

Ophiolitic metamafic remnants of Palaeoproterozoic oceanic crust from the Cláudio shear zone, Southern São Francisco Craton (Brazil)

Soviet Economy
Early evidence of plate tectonics as a global phenomenon can be provided by Palaeoproterozoic ophiolites. Metamafic rocks preserved within the Southern São Francisco Craton (Brazil) along the Cláudio shear zone (suture zone) are regarded as part of the ...

Foreland deformation of Brasiliano orogens at the eastern and western margins of the São Francisco Craton: K-Ar illite dating of the Araçuaí and Brasília fold-and-thrust belts Foreland deformation of Brasiliano orogens

Journal of the Geological Society
The São Francisco Craton played a central role in the evolution of the Brasiliano Orogeny, with significant deformation along its eastern and western margins forming the Araçuaí and Brasília fold-and-thrust belts.

A review of the main tectonic settings of Palaeo-and-Mesoarchean ore deposits in the northern São Francisco Craton, NE Brazil

Soviet Economy, 2022
This work is based on the unprecedented Tectonic-Geochronological Map of Bahia (TGMBA): metallogenic implications. In the TGMBA, sixteen tectonic domains were identified, and the main mineral occurrences and deposits in each were recorded.

Multiple Hydrothermal Iron-Formation Upgrading Events in Southeastern São Francisco Craton

The Journal of geology, 2021
Large-scale, hypogene iron mineralization systems developed recurrently in the São Francisco craton in association with two orogenies. During the ca.
